Prickley Pear Mondays - Play Me a Tune

Good Morning Friends!!! I'm hoping you had a wonderful weekend!!  It was a very crafty weekend for me!!  I completed six cards and I am going to be working on 4 more throughout the week!!  We were able to take a little walk along the river yesterday.  The forecast high was supposed to be 68 degrees, but after the fog finally lifted we reached the 50's.  Not as warm as we hoped, but we did get to enjoy a little sunshine and it felt so good!!!

Today is Prickley Pear Mondays and I have a fun little card for you using Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Play me a Tune stamp.  It is one of my all time favorites from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!!
For today's card, I die cut four pinked edged squares and selectively stamped the girl and the boy from the stamp onto the image.  I used computer paper to mask the edges of the blocks when I stamped.

I layered all of the blocks onto patterned paper and colored the images with Copic Markers.  I also added some machine stitching to add to the vintage effect.

Janelle, I hope that this little blog hop brings some sunshine to your day!!!  I decided that sunshine was exactly what I wanted to share with you, so without further ado, this is for you:

Family Memories

Happy Friday Sweet Friends!!  Its been a long week and I am soooo thankful that Friday is finally here!!  We traveled to Seattle for a long weekend vacation last week and we had the best time!!  I think we are still paying for it today, though.  We are so tired.  I think that even more than being tired, however, is the fact that I  miss my kids!!!  Don't get me wrong, I'm loving being empty nested!  My sweetie and I are growing together and enjoying each other's company tremendously!!  I do have to say that the empty nested days are great for a marriage!!  But, in all reality, I miss family get togethers.  Those days we would get together and play games and laugh and just share in the joy of being a family!  So, in my wistfulness, I decided to pull out an old layout and celebrate once again those days of family bliss!!

When our kids moved to Seattle, we really did leave a part of our hearts there with them!!  We had such a great time visiting Seattle and exploring the area as a family!!  What great days those were!!  I guess the moral of my story today is:

Cherish your family for they are your treasure. A storehouse of riches.....wealth beyond measure.

I hope you have a great day!! As for me, I will go and text my kids and tell them how much I love them!!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #58

Good Morning dear friends!!!  I'm so glad it's Wednesday!!  I am still trying to get back into the swing of things after our vacation in Washington last week!  I did spend the evening making a card for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge.  It felt so good to craft for fun and get my creative juices flowing once again!!!

Here's the challenge:

Make It Monday #58- Graduated Backgrounds

and here's my take on the challenge:

I used PTI's Whale Wishes Stamp set along with their Movers and Shakers: Sliders dies. I used Copic Markers for this technique as posted in this video:
After I colored a square piece of paper with Copic markers, I cut three strips and punched each of them with a scallop punch.  After I scalloped the edges, I glued them to a piece of computer paper and die cut the entire piece with the tag portion of the Movers and Shakers die.  That way, I had a perfect match to the original interactive portion of the card.

I stamped the inside of the interactive tag using PTI Movers and Shakers Sentiments Stamp sets.  The Whale Wishes stamps were a little larger than the space inside the card, so I used my computer to print the sentiment onto the patterned paper.
I inked the Whale with Enchanted Evening Ink and then I pressed the inked stamp onto a dry Gingham Background Basics stamp.  Then, I stamped the image onto a die cut whale resulting in the subtle gingham pattern on the image.  Way fun!!
Supplies Used:
PTI Whale Wishes Stamps and Dies
PTI Movers and Shakers Stamps and Dies
PTI Heart Borders Die
PTI Hawaiian Shores and Stamper's Select White Cardstock
PTI Hawaiian Shores Grosgrain Ribbon

Glitz Design French Kiss Gift Bag

Happy Tuesday once again my friends!! Kristii here for another fun post for Glitz Design.  Today I have a fun and easy gift idea for you using Glitz Design French Kiss Goodies.

I die cut a little bag using French Kiss Papers and filled it full of handmade French Kiss inspired goodies:
The front of the bag is layered with French Kiss Papers, Peek a Boos, and stamped images.  I rolled some die cut flowers and added some pearls and a stamped mini tag.
Inside the bag is a handmade note pad.  I cut a French Kiss Album page to 4 3/4" x 8" and folded it in half.  I embellished it with a doily, ribbon, button and twine.  I stamped "Notes" on the front with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I cut some journal paper slightly smaller than the cover and punched some of the edges with a decorative punch.  I folded the paper in half and stitched the papers together along the seam.  I glued the pad inside the cover with Zip Dry.
Also, Inside the bag is a card featuring a Glitz Design French Kiss Titles Cardstock Sticker and a Pretty In Pink Frame Peek a Boo.  I also used some French Kiss Glitzers to add some color.
Also included in the ensemble are a little decorated glassine bag full of mini tags and a bookmark featuring a French Kiss Layered Sticker.
Lots of fun little goodies that are quick and easy to assemble.  They will make a fabulous gift for a loved one or dear friend!!

Prickley Pear Mondays -Dandelion and Butterlfies

Happy Monday dear friends!!  I hope you have had a wonderful weekend!! We had a blast with our kids in Washington state and now we are on our way back home.  Spring Break went by way too fast, but we enjoyed every minute of it!!  In anticipation of spring, I chose to use the Dandelion and Butterflies Stamp for today's Monday edition.
Here's the stamp:
and here's my Spring Inspired card:
The paper is all from my scrap stash.  I love piecing together different patterns and colors from my stash. It's such a great way to use up your scraps and make a colorful card to share with someone who needs a pick-me-up.
I used a sticker from this month's CupCards {to go} kit and will give this card to a friend who lost a loved one a few days ago.  My heart is with their family, indeed!

Thanks for stopping by!!
I wish you a fabulous day,

Prickley Pear March Sketch Challenge

Welcome to our monthly sketch challenge with Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  Here is the fabulous sketch for this month, and I hope it inspires everyone to get some cardmaking and stamping done.
Here's my take on the sketch:

I used an awesome vintage stamp called "Play me a Tune".

Since the stamp was larger than the tag I used, I masked off the right side of the stamp and just used the little girl image for this particular sketch!   I plan on making another card with this stamp using the entire image very soon!!

Supplies Used:
Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Play me a Tune
October Afternoon Farmhouse 8x8 pad
PTI Rustic Cream Paper and Fine Linen Buttons
Prima Floral
Hand Dyed Seam Binding from My Craft Spot

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your amazing creation in the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Sketch Challenge!!

CupCards {to Go}March Reveal

Hi there dear friends!!! I am so excited to bring you the CupCards {to Go}March Reveal!!!  This month's kit, Hillside, is all about spring!!  The papers are fun and cheery!  They're just what you need to brighten your day!!!   Here's the kit:
My first card uses the lovely yellow gingham pattern in the kit:
When I first saw the Paper, I thought of a baby nursery!  Of course, I had to get out my Papertry Ink Night, Night Moon and Sweet Baby and Sweet Spring Stamps.
The bakers twine matched PTI's Berry Sorbet Ink perfectly!!!  I just love all the little goodies that come in each month's kits.  The little brads are absolutely fabulous touches!!!
The stickers that are included in the kit are absolutely fabulous and are so inspiring in the creation of each and every card!!
This card is based on this month's sketch.  I was pretty excited to find that the sentiment sticker worked perfect with the sketch!!
I used a PTI Doily Die as the base for the sticker and embellished with felt roses made with My Favorite Things Dies.  I added some of the beautiful brads to the roses to add that special touch!
The next card was made combining two stickers from the kit.  I just loved the colors of both stickers and had to add them to a pink background to make the card pretty and special!!  One little note, I scrunched one of the little flowers in the kit to add to the center of the bow.  It just adds a little sparkle and fun to the project, rather than just a flat flower gracing the center!
I also added ribbon from the kit, a scrunched seam binding ribbon and doily to complete this very easy and sweet card.
I wanted to make a boys card out of these fun papers and I had some fun interactive PTI dies that I was dying to use!!
I used the sticker from the kit to set the tone of the card...what boy wouldn't love a "Super Star" on his card?  I pulled out my PTI Flyaway stamps and dies along with a PTI cloud die.
Pull the tag on the card and you will find a fun little message which reads, "Wishing you a birthday as special as you are!"
The last card I made with this kit was for the CupCards {to Go} challenge.  We were to use the red diamond transparency paper with the cute little arrow sticker stack.  I used the transparency as a mat and I used the arrows as bow tails under the flowers.
I, once again, used the stickers as the motivation for my card.  I just loved each and every one of the stickers!!  I added a PTI Coverplate Quatrefoil die panel to the base and added some flowers, handcut butterflies, button and twine, PTI Parisian Lace Doily, ribbon and Recollections Pearls.

This kit was so fun and easy to work with!!! I absolutely loved it!!
Thanks for joining me in the reveal!!

Prickley Pear Mondays - Spring

Happy Monday everyone!!  Today is the first official day of spring break and wouldn't you know we'd wake up to a layer of snow on the ground!  Isn't that the way it goes?  The high is expected to be 55 degrees with a lot of wind, so it is going to warm up, thank goodness!!

With the layer of snow on the ground, what better way to warm things up than with a spring themed card?
I used Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp's Spring Stamp for today's card:

The coloring possibilities with this stamp are endless!!!  I used October Afternoon's Sidewalks papers for this project and used the colors from the papers as my inspiration:
The colors alone brighten my day!!  The yellow is just like a burst of sunshine!!!

Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp's Spring Stamp
October Afternoon Sidewalks Papers
Papertrey Ink Stamper's Select White Cardstock

CupCards {to go} Sneaks

Happy Saturday everyone!!! What a gorgeous day it is here in Southwestern Montana!!  Today is the first day of Spring Break and I am so excited I can barely contain myself!!  I am looking forward to resting, relaxing, reading, crafting, baking...oh yes, a little cleaning...but only a little cleaning!  I have been so tired and worn out lately, this little break is just what I need to get energized once again!

Speaking of energizing, this month's CupCards {to go}kit has added a little zip to my mojo!!  Those of you who follow my blog know that I have been struggling with life issues lately and my mojo has been non existent.  Well between the kit and my new PTI goodies, I think it has been found!!! Whooo hooo!  What a good feeling that is!!  I have a couple of sneaks just to show you it's true!!
The ribbon in the previous card is probably my favorite ribbon in the kit.  Such pretty color and delicate design!! It is truly beautiful!!
The sheet of stickers in this kit is fabulous!! All of my cards were inspired by these stickers!!  There are also several sweet little brads that add "just the right touch" to the elements!
This is a fun little interactive card!! I can't wait to show  you how it works!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I can't wait until the full reveal which will be on Monday, March 12 at 6:00 pm EST.  Until then, I wish you a glorious day!!!
