PTI April Blog Hop

Hi there dear friends!! I hope all is well with you!!  I have been under the weather over the past couple of days so I am late with this post, but hopefully I am finally on the mend!! I'm hoping my backache and headache go away and that I will be able to sleep tonight!  That will help tremendously!!  I did take some time late this afternoon to enjoy some scrap therapy and made a quick little card focused on the PTI April Blog Hop.  Here's the deets:

The-Challenge
Blog hop inspiration

We are excited to get back to our inspiration challenges for the blog hop each month.  For the month of April we wanted to focus on fun florals, damasks & polka dots.  Throw in the fun color scheme, and you have a recipe for the perfect project.  Use the inspiration piece as a jumping point for your color scheme, pattern combinations, overall design or whatever else inspires your creativity.

and here's my take on the challenge:
I used PTI's new Trendy Trees dies and Pink Paislee's London Market 6x6 papers for this month's challenge.  I couldn't wait to play with these adorable trees!! They are one of my many favorites!!
I also used the butterflies from Sweet Spring and the bunny from Friendship Jar Spring Fillers to complete the sweet scene!  The sunbeams are from Nativity Silhouettes and the sentiment is from Year of Flowers Daffodils.  I love mixing and matching stamp sets!!!  It is so theraputic and fun!!

A Great Big Thank You

Hi again Dear Friends!!!  I just wanted to take a minute to say a Great Big Thank You to my friend Martica!!!  She and I have been working on a Swap together and I received the most beautiful creation I have ever seen!!! Martica, You are amazing!!!!

She made this incredibly beautiful decorated box for me:
In all honesty, I'm not one to do swaps because of the time factor.  I seems I always have something due and DT work always comes first, but Martica was so sweet and understanding I thought I would give it a try and she totally knocked my socks off!!
Look at all the amazing detail!!!!!

So absolutely gorgeous!  The photos don't even come close to showing how beautiful her creation is!!!
Thank you so much Martica!!!  You are amazing!  I know my creation won't even come close to the beauty of yours, but I am thankful to have learned a little from one of the best!!!

Thank you all for sharing in my joy!!!

Glitz Design Happy Travels Cards

Good Morning Sweet friends!! It's time for another Glitz Design Blog Post and I'm very excited to share some red and teal goodness with you!!!  Glitz Design Happy Travels papers are so pretty and I've been dying to make a couple of projects using the sweet bicycle and basket from the set!!   I plan on making some wall art using the 12x12 Bicycle Paper very soon, but in the meantime, here's a card using the 6x6 Bicycle Paper!!
I added some hand rolled felt flowers, ribbon and a heart border to enhance the bicycle image which I love so much!
I kept the bicycle intact on the main panel, but I fussy cut the basket and florals from another piece of 6x6 paper and glued it over the top of the basket on the main panel.  I allowed the top edge of the basket and florals to curl to add dimension.  I die cut a couple of yard tools out of chipboard and covered them with patterned paper.  I painted the tools with a little Tim Holtz Fresh Snow Dauber to age the tools a bit.  I took the heart off the sticker and glued the tools on top then added some button twine and placed the heart back on top of the embellishment.
Supplies used:
Glitz Design Happy Travels 6x6 Paper Pad
Glitz Design Happy Travels Layered Stickers
Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock, Pure Poppy Felt, Button Twine,  Heart Border Die, Garden Variety Die; Garden Variety Stamps; My Craft Spot Crinkle Ribbon; Recollection Pearls; Tim Holtz Fresh Snow Dauber;

In my second card I used a Title Cardstock Sticker as the base of my card:
I layered the sticker over a doily and added some hand rolled roses, leaves and banners to embellish.
This will make a great encouragement card!! I just love the saying and the roses are absolutely gorgeous!!
Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Happy Travels 6x6 Paper Pad
Glitz Design Happy Travels Cardstock Stickers Titles
Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock, Parisian Lace Doily Die, Banner Builder Die, Double-Ended Banner Die; My Favorite Things Rolled Flower Die; Leaf Punch EK Success; Recollections Pearls

Wishing you a Glitz Day!!

CupCards {to Go} April Reveal

Happy Monday evening everyone!!!  It's time for the CupCards {to go} April reveal and I just gotta say, this month's kit is like a party in a box!!! Sweetcakes is filled with all kinds of birthday and party goodies!!  Here's a few of the party themed cards I was inspired to make with the kit:

Don't you just love the sweet cupcake clip? I just love all the bright colors in this kit and the Happy Birthday rub-ons are fabulous!!!  I fussy cut the cupcakes from one of the patterned papers to use as embellishments!! Way fun!!!
The second card is based on this month's sketch.  I added a file folder tab and used the big Pebbles Hip Hip Hooray Flower to accent the card!! I just love the name of that flower!! I tell you so many things about this kit just make me smile!!!
I just love the confetti and large dot papers in the kit! They're perfect for party animal birthday cards!!!

The next card is based on the CupCards {to go} kit challenge.  Sonda challenged us to make a card using  the cupcake liner on a card or project and/or use the glitter papers on a card or project.  I chose to make a card with both challenges and this is what I came up with:
I just love the striped cupcake liners!!! Soooo colorful and fun!!!  The blue glitter paper is absolutely the most beautiful shade of blue!! I just love it!!
The next card was inspired by the tea pot on one of the patterned papers.
I had to use a quote for the inside which makes this card perfect for a close friend!!  Don't you just love the colorful striped ribbon?  The ribbons in this months kit are absolutely fabulous!!!
The little cupcake embellishments  and papers are soooo cute!!! I thought they would make perfect birthday invitations!!
Not only are the papers bright and fun, they also make great shabby chic cards too!!!
There are so many sweet embellishments in this kit!!!  It truly is a Party in a Box!!

Kits are on Sale today!!  Stop by the CupCards {to go} Blog today and check them out!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
I'll see you tomorrow with some Glitz Design goodies!!!
Wishing you a wonderful evening,

Good Morning Sweet friends!! I can't believe its already Monday!! What a crazy weekend it was.  Cards and Taxes.  What a combination!  At least I was able to add some creativity to those taxes and I'm very happy to say that I got it all done!!!  Six cards and 2011 taxes finished!!  Whoo hooo!  What a great feeling!!  One of the cards I made was for today's Prickley Pear Monday Post!  I decided it would be fun to pull out the Pink Paislee Papers and pair them up with Prickley Pear's  Butterflies 2.  Butterflies 2 is such a pretty set and I know you are going to love it too:
The butterfly with the music notes is my favorite in this set and I am totally loving the fourish too!!! Sooooo pretty!

I used the computer to print the sentiment using Freebooter Script and Jenna Sue fonts.  The butterfly was stamped on patterned paper and it was so pretty, I just had to cut it out.  I added some pearls to dress it up a bit.
I used the sketch from Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #55 for this card!!! What a fabulous sketch!!!  Thanks Chupa for the inspiration!!!

Today's card for Prickley Pear Mondays uses their beautiful Nesting Finches Stamp:

I stamped the finches onto a die cut piece of white paper:
and then stamped the image onto patterned papers and fussy cut the birds, nest, flowers and leaves. Then I paper pieced the images onto the die cut.  I inked the edges and added some Copic Marker accents.

Glitz Design April Challenge

Hi there sweet friends!!  It's time for the Glitz Design Blog Challenge!!!
Here's the challenge:
and here's my take on the challenge:
I decided to pull out my Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer papers for this challenge!!  They are absolutely perfect for Spring Themed cards!!!  With Easter just a few days away, I couldn't help but make a fun little card for Easter!

The base for the sweet little Easter Scene is a Beautiful Dreamer Cardstock Sticker.  I added some bunnies, butterflies and a hand made flower to complete the scene.  I only had one bunny stamp and I really thought the scene needed two.  I decided to try out a technique that I had seen on Jess Witty's Blog.  I found a stamp that was thick and flat all the way across. This wood grain stamp was nice and thick and flat.  I place the wood grain stamp on the acrylic block wrong side up:
Then I stamped the image onto the smooth side of the stamp:
Then I stamped the "stamped"  image onto the paper:
and there you have it, a nice mirror image of the original stamp!  It works pretty slick and it's a very easy way to create a mirror image stamp!!  The image stamps a little lighter, but still looks great!!!
Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Papers:  Houndstooth, Stripe, Polka
Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Cardstock Stickers: Journaling
Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock and Felt, Papertrey Ink Spring Friendship Jar Fillers and Sweet Spring Stamps, Papertrey Ink Love Lives Here and Heart Border Die; My Craft Spot Crinkle Ribbon; My Favorite Things Rolled Flower Die; Recollections Pearls; Florals from my stash; Copic Markers: R20 Blush and R000 Cherry White

My second card uses a Beautiful Dreamer Whatnot as the base:
I embossed a rustic white panel and matted both the embossed panel and the Whatnot with the pink stripe paper to add color.
I added some die cut leaves, seam binding, hand rolled flowers and a cardstock sticker to complete the card.  The rolled flowers made with the Beautiful Dreamer Stripe paper are so pretty!!!  I love them!

Supplies used:
Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Cardstock:  Houndstooth and Stripe
Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Whatnots
Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Cardstock Stickers: Journaling
Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock, Embellishments Stamps, and Turning a New Leaf Die; My Craft Spot Crinkle Ribbon; Recollections Pearls

I hope you join in the Glitz Design Blog Challenge this month!!
Looking forward to seeing what you create and wishing you a very Glitzy Day,
Kristii

Prickley Pear Mondays -

Good Morning dear friends!!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  My weekend was absolutely wonderful!!!  My sweetie and I cleaned the house, walked the dogs and went to see The Hunger Games on Saturday.  He didn't get all the hype surrounding The Hunger Games, but I enjoyed it.  Sunday we went to church with Benny and then he and Heidi joined us for lunch and games for the rest of the afternoon!!  You know when your kids move away from home, it is such a special treat when they come by and spend the day!!  I am thankful indeed!  After the kids left for home, I got out my Prickley Pear stamps and got started on some fun little Easter table decorations!!  My decorations begin with some sweet little tags made with Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps sweet little  Bunny with Egg stamp:
He is sooooo cute and will be perfect for the little candy holders I have planned to grace our table this Easter!!! Here's the tags:

and later today, I'll photograph the little treat bags and post them here on my blog!! I can't wait for Easter!!!

Hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you later this evening!!
