Inspired By...

Hi there dear friends!! It's been an inky kind of day and I decided to take part in the Simon Says Monday Challenge!!  This week's challenge is Inspired by the amazing Tammy Tutterow and I had a ball taking part in the challenge!!  There's nothing better than getting down and inky and this is what I came up with:
I was inspired by this tutorial by Tammy Tutterow and I really love the way it turned out!!  I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock and impressed a wood grain image onto the background.  I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I then die cut a Papertrey Ink Honey Comb cover plate and used it as a mask.  I took some vintage book paper and covered it with the mask and spritzed some Tattered Angels Coffee Shop and Patina inks over the book page.  Using a paint brush I painted some Modge Podge on the back side of the vintage book paper in streaks and glued it to the impressed background.  I tore away the paper that wasn't adhered to the base and inked the edges.

I then embellished the base with a decorative tag, an inked flower and leaves, some ribbon and a patterned paper circle to bring all the colors together.

Supplies used:
Papertrey Ink Kraft and Vintage Cream Paper.
Papertrey Ink Happiness In Bloom, Autumn Acorns and Boutique Borders Thanks
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge Gathered Twigs and Festive Berries
Papertrey Ink Harvest Gold, Aqua Mist, Scarlet Jewel, and Canyon Clay Inks

Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!

  2. AMAZING!! I am still just sitting here staring at your card (my husband thought I'd gone into a coma)! I really love the whole look of the card, but even more amazing is the incredible steps you went through and the attention to detail that you employed. A lot of great thought went into this and it shows! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!
