Watercolor Madness with Papertrey Ink

Hi there dear friends!!  I have another Papertrey Ink challenge card to share with you tonight! Here's the challenge:
Todays-Contest
In today's post you saw lots of different watercolored looks achieved.  Now it's your turn to play around with this new trend and create a project using some type of watercolor technique!
I did my best with today's challenge, but I'm not sure that watercolor is my strong suit.  I used Papertrey Ink's Year of Flowers Roses stamps and used a little watercolor pencil and waterbrush pen to color the rose.  I do have to admit it was fun, but I think sometimes I am too much of a perfectionist for watercolor.  I'll have to keep on trying and maybe it will grow on me!  Thank you to PTI for stretching me and making me grow and try new things!!

I decided to use pink polka dots once again because they just make me happy!! I added a heart border die cut and a little bit of black and white twine.  The sentiment is from PTI's Signature Greetings set.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you an absolutely wonderful Wednesday!!

Papertrey Ink Color Challenge

Hi there dear friends!! I am in a zone with my Papertrey Ink goodies!! I love each and every stamp set of PTI that I own and I am having a blast with all these challenges!!  Here's today's Challenge:

Todays-Contest
Today I used lots of unique and trendy color schemes in my projects!  Now it's your turn!  We are issuing one of our popular color challenges.  I have put together a total of six color stories for you to choose from!  Your task is to create a project utilizing one of these color schemes:
Color-inspiration-1

and here's my take on the challenge:
My motivations for today's card was based on Retrosketches #50.  Such a fabulous sketch and yet it took me a bit to come up with an idea.  I pushed paper around and around and finally I decided to use the same flower color scheme as yesterday.  Once I figured out the focal point and the colors, the rest just fell into place.  I used a tag sale die and decided white on white would make the colors pop and add an element of sweetness to the focal point.  I stamped some pretty little Sweet Blush polka dots along the bottom of the base using Polka Dot Basics.   I added some felt hearts using the Heart Border die and added a Spring Moss die cut tail using the Fabulous Frames die.  The sentiment is from the Fancy Folk Art set.  I topped off the card using a pretty little hand dyed seam binding bow.

Thanks to PTI for a wonderful week of challenges!! I'm having a blast!!
Thanks for stopping by!! I appreciate you all!

More PTI Anniversary Fun!!

Hi there friends! I took some time from cleaning today and played along with the Anniversary Festivities over at PTI!!  Here's the challenge:
Todays-Contest
Today we are issuing one of our popular sketch challenges!  I have designed a total of five sketches for you to choose from!  Your task is to create a project utilizing one of these sketches:
The first card I made for today was inspired by sketch #3.  I just loved the angles in the sketch and had to give it a try!!

I used some PTI patterned paper strips along with some Glitz Design paper strips.  What a great way to use up your scraps! I may have to try this sketch again!  I love it!!  I stamped the Sweet Life roses first with Sweet Blush ink and then with Pure Poppy Ink.  I stamped with Sweet Blush ink one again over the top to soften the red a bit.  The leaves are stamped with Aqua Mist ink that I stamped off once and then stamped the detail with Aqua Mist ink again.  The sentiment is from Year Of Flowers Roses.

Thanks for stopping by!! I wish you an absolutely wonderful day!

Happy 24 +1 Birthday

Happy Sunday dear friends!!  My sweet daughter Heidi's birthday was this weekend and of course we had to celebrate!  We had Jambalaya for dinner and of course we had to have a heart shaped cake in honor of Valentine's day which is right around the corner!
She wasn't too excited about turning 25, so we went with it and gave her a 24 +1 birthday!! It was a lot of fun!!  She is the joy in our lives and we are so thankful for her!!  We love you Heidi Elizabeth!!   Of course, I had to make her a card and I went with one of the challenges that are being featured at PTI this week.  Since Heidi fills our lives with so much joy, I wanted to go with a happy and joyful color scheme for this birthday card!
I decided to use Danielle Flander's bright and cheery card, #1 in the first row.  The color scheme is so fun and to be honest, I love the heart that's hanging from the cloud.  I wasn't able to make the hanging heart work, but I will keep it in the back of my mind in the days to come.  Thanks Danielle for all the inspiration!! You are amazing!
Danielle
I decided to go with the Fancy Folk Art stamp set and I just have to tell you, it's way fun to work with!! I love that you can die cut the shapes and I love that each little floral has a specific stamp to fill in the the white space.  It is an absolutely fabulous set!!  I also love the birthday sentiment!!  It's perfect!!  I did hand cut the banner and used dimensional adhesive to add more depth to my project.  You can see the original stamping from this perspective.
Of course I had to add to the fun of the 24+1 birthday on the inside of the card.   I used some Washi Tape to add some red and white polka dots to the top of the sentiment.

It was a fabulous day and I thank you for sharing it with me!!!
Hope you have a wonderful day!!

More Fun with Papertrey Ink

Hi there dear friends!! It's time for more fun with Papertrey Ink...
Todays-Contest
Find an inspiration photo on Pinterest or a different source and create some type of wrap, tag or gift packaging based on that inspiration.

I chose this fun little project by Donna Downey on Pinterest
cute gift wrap
I think I'll make a few of these to give to friends!
Here's my take on the challenge

I took a small Glassine Bag and decorated it with a pretty little doily and hand dyed seam binding.  I cut out a little heart using a Papertrey Ink die and cut out the sentiment from the Papertrey Ink With All My Heart stamp set.  Inside the bag is a little tag made with two Tag Sale dies and a heart from the With All My Heart Stamp set!
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very happy Sunday!!

Washi Tape Madness with Glitz Design

Good morning sweet friends!!  It's time for some Washi Tape madness with Glitz Design!!
I have two cards for you today that feature embellishments made with Glitz Design Washi Tape!!  Who would've thought you could have so much fun with Washi Tape.  The colors and designs are so fun and add so much color and interest to your projects!!

In this first card, I die cut some butterflies using some gorgeous Love You Madly Lace Washi Tape.  I adhered two pieces of Washi Tape to some cardstock.  Then centered the die on the seam of the two pieces of tape and die-cut as usual.
I totally love the way the die cuts turn out!! What a fun embellishment!
I cut several layers from the papers and layered them together and then I added a Cardstock Titles Sticker.  Then I added some rolled flowers, pearls and hand dyed seam binding.  The sentiment was fussy cut from the Uncharted Waters Bits and Pieces paper.
Challenges used:  Cardabilities Sketch #68
In the next card I made some quick and easy banners out of the Wahsi Tape to use as embellishments.
The Washi Tape Banners add a nice little pop of color to the card.  Just a little snip or two and you have an instant banner that dresses up the whole card.
I added the cute little Peek a Boo banner to compliment the Washi Tape banner and I am totally loving all the color!!  There are so many fun pieces in the Uncharted Waters line!! I love them all!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Celebration

Hi there dear friends!!  It's that time of the year again!! The PTI Anniversary Celebration has begun and I am so excited to get my mojo flowing and play with my favorite stamps!  The first challenge is to

1. Create a new project that is inspired by one of the Design Team Favorites projects shown above.

My inspiration for this project is from one of my favorite designers
I totally love Danielle's work and what a blast to use her project as inspiration.  I thought long and hard about what I was going to do for this project.  One of my favorite projects of Danielle's is the second card in the second row.  Such a sweet and simple card!  I have three different floral stamps and I chose to use the Sweet Life stamps for this project.  I love the doily she used behind the flowers and an idea dawned on me.  Why not use another one of my favorite stamp sets to create the round mat and while I'm at it, I can emboss it too just like she did with the hexagons and here is what I came up with...

I just can't tell you how my heart sings when I put these two stamp sets together!!!  I used a Kraft background and layered some cream cardstock on top with some dimensional adhesive.  I embossed the clock onto the Spring Moss cardstock with fine what embossing powder.  I stamped the clock numbers with Kraft Ink.  The florals are stamped twice with Hibiscus Burst Ink...sigh....I love pink!!  The leaves are stamped with Spring Moss ink and Simply Chartreuse ink.  I die cut the clock hands out of Kraft cardstock.
I added a little punched border on top of a Rustic Cream panel and stamped the leaves in the bottom corner.  Such a sweet and simple little card!!  I love PTI!

Supplies Used:
Papertrey Ink The Sweet Life Stamps and Dies
Papertrey Ink Hands Of Time Stamps and Die
Papertrey Ink Clock Face Die
Papertrey Ink Kraft, Spring Moss, and Rustic Cream Cardstock
Papertrey Ink Kraft, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Hibiscus Burst Ink
Versamark Ink
White Fine Embossing Powder

Thank you for stopping by!!
I appreciate you!!

Sweet Baby Invites

Happy Friday dear friends! It was a very busy week and now I'm getting in a little craft therapy making some Baby Invitations for my sweet daughter Bethany's friends. I'm using Papertrey Ink's Sweet Baby and Night Night Moon stamps. They are my all time favorite Baby themed stamps, that's for sure!!

The color scheme is yellow, pink and grey and so I used Papertrey Ink's Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart and soft stone ink.  Such a pretty color combination and I would have never put it together on my own, but I love it!  I added a sweet little bow and a die cut star border.  The text was created on my computer.
I am so thankful for my sweet daughter getting my creative juices flowing!!  She's the best!!

Hope you have a great weekend!!

Cup Cards {to go} Valentine Kit Reveal

Hi there dear friends!!  It's time for the Cup Cards {to go} Valentine Kit reveal!!  Introducing Heartbreaker:
It's a sweet little kit filled with goodies to make a wide variety of cards! The first card I made with the kit feature some red and white polka dot Washi Tape.
I added some strips of Washi tape to the card and stamped a couple of flourishes and added some sweet little hearts to add to the color scheme and to pull the card together.  I used some rub-ons from the kit for the sentiment and created a little rolled felt flower.  This little card was inspired by Retro Sketches #48.  Such a fun sketch and perfect for Washi Tape.
Some of the papers in this kit are so pretty and work very well with a vintage theme.  The sweet little Vintage Valentine paper just cried out to be framed.  I just love all the sweet little images.
I added some sweet little buttons and hand dyed seam binding to compliment the images.  I added a couple of hand stamped tags to complete the card.
The next card continues on with the romantic theme.  I used to gorgeous floral patterned paper included in the kit and added the doily heart, some florals and some die cut letters.
The lace doily and the lace trim are perfect additions to this romantic card and I also love all the pink goodness included in the kit.  Soooo fun and very pretty!
This sweet little kit also has some pretty little purple embellishments.  I love the purple ribbon and the purple and pink heart is way cute!!  I added some pink and purple rub-ons and some felt hearts and purple confetti pieces.  The color scheme in this card totally makes me happy!
I could use these lace doilies again and again!  They are so perfect for Valentines!! I love them!
The last card was motivated by the sketch of the month. I used some cut outs from one of the papers and added a sweet little embellishment cluster featuring one of the little vintage images from one of the papers included in the kit.
This embellishment cluster is my favorite from the kit!!  A little pink along with a vintage image makes my heart happy indeed!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful evening!!
