Paper trey Ink February Blog Hop Challenge

Good morning dear friends!! I was so lucky last night to have some serious happy mail from PTI!! It was all the motivation I needed to join in the FEBRUARY 2016 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE!!!

Here's the challenge:
The-Challenge
Inspiration
and my take on the challenge:

I used brand new PTI sets Tulip Time and Paper Clippings.  I am loving both of these sets.  They will be the first sets I pick up this time of the year when I am dying for spring!!  I used an old floral shaped card template as the pink plate in the challenge photo grabbed my eye.  I added die cuts from both sets and a butterfly that was inspired by the photo.  I do have to say that I absolutely love the font in the sentiment from Tulip Time!!  So fun and just my style!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!!  See you along the hop!!

Make It Monday #204 - Watercolor Smooshing

Hi there dear friends!  It's Sunday night and I finally finished my Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge - Watercolor Smooshing.  Here's my take on the Challenge:
I used Hibiscus Burst and Summer Sunrise Ink for the smooshing and I used a punch to punch out my butterflies from the smooshed paper.  What a fun technique and if you've never smooshed before check out Betsy's video for more!
I used some PTI Banner Dies and printable paper from Melstampz to create the banner.
I die cut the PTI Block Alphas from PTI Silver Cardstock and Double Sided Foam Adhesive sheets and layered them onto PTI a Doily Details Die.
The florals were stamped using PTI Bitty Bouquet stamps and Dies.  These florals are my new favorite stamps and dies!! They are absolutely beautiful!!
I added a double layered border at the top of each of the banners using PTI Heart Border dies in Silver and Stamper's Select Cardstock.
I added some little antennae to the butterflies using black cardstock and PTI Be Happy Dies.  I also added some rainstones to the butterflies for fun.
I tied the banners together using white Hug Snug Ribbon.
I used my brand new MISTI to stamp all the flowers!  What an awesome tool!! If you haven't heard about the new MISTI tool, you are definitely missing out!! It is definitely the Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented!
Thanks for stopping by!!!  I hope you have a wonderful week!!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Day 2 - Maile Returens

Hi everyone!! Whooo hooo!  It's hard to believe it, but I am back once again with a project for the Papertrey Ink 8th Anniversary Challenge!!   I can't even say how much I have missed crafting so this challenge is absolutely just what the doctor ordered!!!  Here's the challenge:
I think it is safe to say that we ALL admire Maile and her incredible sense of style!  Take a few moments and peruse through her blog to explore all of the amazing projects she has made over the years.  Select a project that you find particularly inspiring and make your own project using elements from her card.
Maile is so amazing and has so many amazing designs to choose from, it was hard to pick just one.  After much searching and deliberation, I chose this card of Maile's for my inspiration and here's my take on the challenge:
I used a black card base and layered a white panel on top.  I cut several happy's out of Tinsel and Tags patterned paper along with a stamped birthday banner.  I added a fun little arrow from the Phrase Play #3 die to complete the design.
Thanks for stopping by!!!  Hope you have a wonderful evening!!

Papertrey Ink 8th Anniversary Celebration Day 1 - Inspiration Cards

Whooo hooo!!  Hi there dear friends!!  I am so excited to get out my stamping goodies and participate in Papertrey Ink's  first day of festivities!

Here's the challenge:
1. Create a new project that uses one Color Recipe Card and one Sketch Recipe Card:

PTI8-color-inspiration-3
PTI8-sketch-inspiration-7
and here's my take on the challenge:
I stamped the pattern with one of my old favorites, PTI's Polka Dot Basics in Aqua Mist Ink that I misted with a spritz of water.  I was going for a bit of a watercolor look with this card.  I inked up the Rosie Posie florals and spritzed each one with a squirt of water and stamped them onto a watercolor paper panel.  I used Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, Ripe Avocado, and Spring Moss.  I totally love the watercolor feel of the stamped images!
I die cut the Wet Paint sentiment and stamped the birthday image.  I layered the watercolor panel on top of a Aqua Mist card base.

Very quick and simple and I am loving the color combination!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!!
Have a wonderful evening!!

Just for Fun!!

Hi there dear friends!!  It's been a while since I have posted and I am so excited to say that I finally found my mojo!!  I have been so busy with work and updating our house that I haven't had a lot of time for crafting.  I just gotta say it feels so good to get my creative juices flowing again!!  Today I have a little card I made just for fun using Papertrey Ink's Garden Grace Stamps!! I love these stamps and I know I will be using them again and again!!
I sprayed the base layer with Heidi Swapp Blush Color Shine and Stencil Set.  I stamped the florals with the Pink Ink Pad from Heidi Swapp and I stamped the leaves with Papertrey Ink Limeade Ice. I watercolored the inside with various Papertrey Ink Pads.  The new Papertrey Ink Luxe Letterpress sentiment is promising to be one of my all-time favorite Happy stamps!  It is supposed to be stamped at an angle, but I rebelled and stamped it straight across.  I love it!!  It's even better stamped with Heidi Swapp's Pink Ink!!  I topped off the card with a hand dyed seam binding ribbon.  I can't wait to give it away!!

Supplies Used:
PTI Garden Grace Stamps and Dies
PTI Luxe Letterpress Stamps
PTI Stamper's Select White Cardstock
PTI Sweet Blush, Summer Sunrise, Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice, and Orange Zest Inks
Heidi Swapp Pink Ink
Heidi Swapp Star Stencil Set
Heidi Swapp Blush Color Shine

Papertrey Ink MIM #149: Glitter Embellishments

Happy Sunday sweet friends!! It's been a great weekend and I am so excited to say I've been a bit crafty!!  I got my new PTI Doodlie-do stamps and just had to make a quick project and since this week's MIM project had to do with Glitter, I didn't need any more persuasaion!!

Make It Monday #149: Glitter Embellishments

I started off by stamping the Doodlie-Do flowers onto vellum with Versamark Ink and the added fine white embossing powder and heat set them.  I die cut the image with Sweet Blush and Simply Chartreuse papers and layered the embossed images on top.  I added coarse crystal glitter to all of the centers to go with the theme of the challenge.  To make the base panel, I picked up some Heidi Swapp Blush Colorshine and Stencils at Michael's and sprayed the the diagonal lines onto Stamper's Select white paper.  I am just loving the stenciled technique for backgrounds!! It's so fun and so easy to create custom backgrounds for any project!!

Supplies Used:
PTI Stamper's Select White, Simply Chartreuse,  and Sweet Blush Cardstock
PTI Vellum Cardstock
Heidi Swapp Stencil
Heidi Swapp Blush Color Shine

Twelve Days of Christmas Day 3 - Modern Whimsy Shaped Card

Happy Day three of the Twelve Days of Christmas dear friends!! We are in the deep freeze here in Montana and I'm happy to say that we are no longer dreaming of a white Christmas!!  Whooo hooo!  Everything is beautiful and sparkly! It may be beautiful, but it comes with a price.  The low tonight has been forecast to be 8 below zero, brrrr!

I was inspired by the snow and I have to say that I am still enamored with Danielle Flanders' MIM Challenge over at PTI.  There is nothing more whimsical than snow and the idea was born!!
If you look closely at the white base of the shaped card you will see a little sparkly texture.  I temporarily adhered two snowflakes to the base and rubbed some gesso into the holes.  Once I filled all the holes with gesso, I took the snowflakes off and sprinkled them with glitter.  It made for a very nice textured background!
I know that I am going to have to play around with this technique some more! There are a lot of possibilities!!
I die cut some Snowflakes, Leaves, Rustic Wreath and One Liners and embellished the sweet little shaped card.  I added a little lace, ribbon and a little pearl to embellish.
Supplies Used:
Papertrey Ink One Liners, Fancy Flakes, Happiness in Bloom Leaves, and Peace Be Still Dies
Sweet Blush, Vellum and Stamper's Select Papers
PTI White Ribbon
PTI Simply Chartreuse and Cream Felt
October Afternoon Scrap Papers
Gesso and Pearl from my stash

I have also entered this card into Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!!
Thanks for stopping in for the Twelve Days of Christmas Celebration!
Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

Happy Tuesday evening sweet friends!! I am still in Christmas Card mode and decided to take part in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and this week's challenge is based on Heather's sketch!  I thought it would be fun to pull out my PTI Nativity Silhouette stamps for this challenge and I do have to say I was feeling golden!!

I embossed the silhouettes with gold embossing powder and used some of my scraps from the Pink Paislee Snow Village patterned papers.
My favorite part of the card is the embossing on the tag that looks like shining rays radiating from the Christ Child.  Sigh....He is Wonderful, Counselor, Everlasting Father, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Thanks be to God for this Glorious Gift!!

Supplies Used:
Papertrey Ink Nativity Silhouettes
Papertrey Ink Star Border Die
Pink Paislee Snow Village Papers

Thank you so much for stopping by!!!  You are the best!!

After our birthday celebration, we turned on the football game and I pulled out my crafty goodies for Make It Monday Challenge!  This week's challenge is to add glitter with heat and stick embossing powder.  I totally love this challenge as I have never used this type of embossing powder and I love it!!  I don't know about you, but I love everything glitter!!  I had to run to Michael's and pick some up, but I know that I'll be using it lots during this Christmas Season!!

I kind of went overboard on the glitter, but I just couldn't help myself!!  This card and all the glitter just make me happy!!  Papertrey Ink's In the Meadow Stamps and glitter are a match made in heaven!!  The tag was made using PTI's Photo Finisher's stamps and a little silver embossing powder.

Make It Monday #140 Ink Pad Designs

Happy Sunday dear friends!!! It's been a nice relaxing weekend and I was able to take some time to create a little Papertrey Ink project based on this week's Make it Monday Challenge to put ink pads directly to paper.

For this challenge, I  ran my Aqua Mist ink pad directly onto the vellum and created a nice subtle Aqua Mist shade of vellum.  Then I ran the tinted vellum through my die cut machine and cut out a nice little banner and a couple of snowflakes.

I added some Peaceful Pinecones and the sweet little sled from Two Feet Deep.  I did add some shading to the pinecones using E57 Light Walnut Copic Marker.  I totally love the look!!

Supplies Used:
Papertrey Ink Stamper's Select White, Aqua Mist, and Vellum Cardstock
Papertrey Ink Red Patterned Paper
Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, Kraft, Dark Chocolate Ink
Papertrey Ink Two Feet Deep and Peaceful Pinecone stamps and dies

A Little Make It Monday #138 Magic

Happy Friday Dear Friends!!!  I hope all is well with you!!  I'm starting the weekend off right with a little Creative Therapy using the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #138 Challenge along with the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.

Here's my take on the Challenges:
I have been in the Christmas Card Zone this week and what better type of card to make after a hectic week than a Peaceful Christmas Card!  Makes me take a nice deep breath and enjoy the peaceful moment!!  I used Papertrey Ink One Liners Dies and some Silver Shimmer paper.  Sigh....Silver Peace....makes all the stress totally go away!!!  I used the Inlaid Die Cut technique described here. Love, love, love this technique!!  I die cut the patterned paper and the Silver Shimmer paper and pieced them together as the video explains.  I also die cut the edge of the tree using the One Liner die too!  It all works together perfectly!!
I used PTI In the Meadow Dies to die cut the deer and the tree and I used some Basic Grey Christmas scraps for the base of the card.

Such an effective technique!!  I hope you give it a try!! You'll love the results!!

Thanks for stopping by and wish you a peaceful evening!!

Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop

Good Morning dear friends!!  Happy Friday!  I am so excited to share my little project with you today!! It sure does feel good to get a jump on the Holiday Season by already having a set of tags made for the packages under the tree!! I don't know if you're like me, but I'm usually making quick tags at 11:59 on Christmas Eve. I tell myself each and every year that I'll do better and this year I am a little more on top of my game!!  These tags were made for the PTI October Blog Hop.  Here's the challenge:
The-Challenge
October-Blog-Hop
photo credits:  greenery ::: joy ::: black&kraft ::: red berry wreath ::: jingle bells ::: clay heart
Before you know it, all of the gift giving that goes hand-in-hand with the upcoming holidays will be here.  This month we thought we would challenge you to get a head start and create a quick set of five gift tags.  They can be as simple or as complex as you wish, but be sure to make at least five!  For something unique, try using unique materials for the base of your tag such as paper clay, metal, jar lids, wood veneer, fabric, canvas, felt or anything else you can dream up!  Just think how good it will feel to have these tags finished up BEFORE you even start wrapping!  We look forward to seeing your creations and we hope to see you back here on the 25th!
and here's my take on the challenge:
I used a hodgepodge of supplies for these tags!  You know me, I love to mix and match stamps!  The patterned papers are Snow Village from Pink Paislee and they absolutely perfect for any and every Christmas project!!  I don't think I purchased enough for this year and I will be looking to buy a little more!
I used the house from PTI's Spring Hills set...who says you need to use Christmas themed stamps for Christmas tags?  I love getting out of the box!!  The stars were die cut using the PTI Star Border Die.
I stamped all the houses twice for each project - once on patterned paper and once on cream cardstock.  I fussy cut each roof out and glued it on the cream colored house.  I kind of mixed my love for simple and layered on these tags and chose to leave the houses in their primitive state.
The Merry Christmas Stamp is from Bells and Boughs and the Santa Image is from City Scene Christmas Sentiments...I just love that sleigh embossed in gold....so festive and totally makes me want to Believe!!
All of the embellishments are from the Pink Paislee Snow Village Ephemera package and the ribbons are all from PTI.
The Merry Christmas Stamp is from Love Lives Here Holiday and the trees are die cut from the City Scene Dies.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I look forward to more ideas from all of you!!
