Make It Monday #240: Watercolor Resist

Good evening dear friends!  I'm on a roll with another challenge project with Papertrey Ink!!  I have been working so hard at work lately and crafting has been the best therapy for these crazy days!!  Crafting fills my heart with so much joy and my heart is full!!!

  Here's the challenge:

MAKE IT MONDAY #240: WATERCOLOR RESIST

--Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and watercolor resist.
and here's my take on the challenge:
I really had a hard time with this challenge.  I didn't have any rubber cement, but I did have some zip dry and it worked perfectly! I used PTI Ink Refills with a little water for watercolors and then die cut the finished product the the What the Doidle Butterfly Die.  I used an assortment of stamps and a brand new Papertrey Ink Stencil for this project.  I am just loving all the new goodies from PTI!  They really knocked their Anniversary Release out of the park!
Supplies used:
Painted Petals Stamps and Dies
What the Doodle: Butterfly Stamps and Dies
Color Pop Forals Stamps
Modern Background Stencil
Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, Vintage Jadeite, Scarlet Jewel, and Black PTI Inks

Thank you so much for stopping by!!

Papertrey Ink MIM #201: Cover Plate Stencils and Embossing Paste

Good morning sweet friends!!  I have a fun little card to share with you today for the Papertrey Ink MIM Challenge.  Here's the challenge:

MAKE IT MONDAY #201: COVER PLATE STENCILS AND EMBOSSING PASTE

--Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a Cover Plate Die stencil.
and here's my take on the Challenge:

I used Betsy Veldman's Beautiful Brushstrokes stamp set and the Chevron Cover Plate for this challenge.  I started by die cutting the Chevron Cover Plate and then adhered the die cut to the white card panel with some Washi Tape.  I spread some Teresa Collins Essential Modeling Paste onto the panel with a spatula tool and let it dry.  Love the dimension it creates!!  I then die cut and stamped the florals with black ink.  I then stamped a light base on the florals and then added some watercolor contrast.  Love, love, love these florals!!

I added some rub ons to add a little more black contrast and then mounted the panel onto a Hibiscus Burst Card base.  I plan on adding a bible verse to the inside for a card to send a bright ray of sunshine to a friend who needs a little encouragment in her day.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Papertrey Ink MIM #149: Glitter Embellishments

Happy Sunday sweet friends!! It's been a great weekend and I am so excited to say I've been a bit crafty!!  I got my new PTI Doodlie-do stamps and just had to make a quick project and since this week's MIM project had to do with Glitter, I didn't need any more persuasaion!!

Make It Monday #149: Glitter Embellishments

I started off by stamping the Doodlie-Do flowers onto vellum with Versamark Ink and the added fine white embossing powder and heat set them.  I die cut the image with Sweet Blush and Simply Chartreuse papers and layered the embossed images on top.  I added coarse crystal glitter to all of the centers to go with the theme of the challenge.  To make the base panel, I picked up some Heidi Swapp Blush Colorshine and Stencils at Michael's and sprayed the the diagonal lines onto Stamper's Select white paper.  I am just loving the stenciled technique for backgrounds!! It's so fun and so easy to create custom backgrounds for any project!!

Supplies Used:
PTI Stamper's Select White, Simply Chartreuse,  and Sweet Blush Cardstock
PTI Vellum Cardstock
Heidi Swapp Stencil
Heidi Swapp Blush Color Shine
PTI Doodlie-Do Stamps and Dies
Martha Stewart Crystal Glitter

Wishing you a creative day!!

Twelve Days of Christmas Day 3 - Modern Whimsy Shaped Card

Happy Day three of the Twelve Days of Christmas dear friends!! We are in the deep freeze here in Montana and I'm happy to say that we are no longer dreaming of a white Christmas!!  Whooo hooo!  Everything is beautiful and sparkly! It may be beautiful, but it comes with a price.  The low tonight has been forecast to be 8 below zero, brrrr!

I was inspired by the snow and I have to say that I am still enamored with Danielle Flanders' MIM Challenge over at PTI.  There is nothing more whimsical than snow and the idea was born!!
If you look closely at the white base of the shaped card you will see a little sparkly texture.  I temporarily adhered two snowflakes to the base and rubbed some gesso into the holes.  Once I filled all the holes with gesso, I took the snowflakes off and sprinkled them with glitter.  It made for a very nice textured background!
I know that I am going to have to play around with this technique some more! There are a lot of possibilities!!
I die cut some Snowflakes, Leaves, Rustic Wreath and One Liners and embellished the sweet little shaped card.  I added a little lace, ribbon and a little pearl to embellish.
Supplies Used:
Papertrey Ink One Liners, Fancy Flakes, Happiness in Bloom Leaves, and Peace Be Still Dies
Sweet Blush, Vellum and Stamper's Select Papers
PTI White Ribbon
PTI Simply Chartreuse and Cream Felt
October Afternoon Scrap Papers
Gesso and Pearl from my stash

I have also entered this card into Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!!
Thanks for stopping in for the Twelve Days of Christmas Celebration!
Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 2 Modern Whimsey Banner

Happy Day two of the Twelve Days of Christmas my friends!!  One of my goals this Christmas is to make a Christmas Banner for both of my girls and when I saw the MIM Challenge at Papertrey Ink, I was totally inspired!! I love Danielle Flander's style so much and you can just imagine how excited I was to case her style!!!  Whoo hooo!! I had a ball!!
Here's a close-up of the whimsical style:

I used several different Papertrey Ink sets for this fun little Banner.  I started with the Banner Dies and cut two sizes of banners - one in red and one in Stamper's Select White cardstock.
Then I die cut  a Rustic Wreath out of Stamper's Select White and stamped it in Simply Chartreuse Ink and colored it in with Copic Markers.  Notice I wasn't too worried about staying in the lines to keep in with the Modern Whimsey feel.  I die cut several Confetti Borders out and some I stamped and the heart border I die cut in PTI red patterned paper.  I die cut a pink snowflake and a vellum snowflake using the Fancy Flakes dies.  Way fun!!  Then I cut out the Christmas One Liners which I totally love!! So fun and fancy!!
I was wishing I hadn't sold my Tremendous Treats set to embellish this banner, but I made do with what I had.  So I grabbed the cute PTI Penguin, The 2010 Holiday Tags Reindeer, and the cute little snowman from Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers.    Such an eclectic mix of goodies, but this year is all about using my scraps and I am enjoying the challenge!!

Holiday Banner
STAMPS: Rustic Wreath, Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers, Confetti Garland Borders, 201o Holiday Tags; Winter Penguin
INK: True Black, Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, Simply Chartreuse
PAPER: Pure Poppy Pattern Pack, Sweet Blush Cardstock, Stamper's Select, vellum
DIES: Fancy Flakes, Basic Banner, Rustic Wreath, Confetti Garland, One Liners; Winter Penguin

OTHER: Baker's twine

This Project also qualifies for the Wednesday Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes!!
Thank you for Joining me on Day two of the Twelve Days of Christmas!
See you tomorrow for Day three!!

The Twelve Days of Christmas: Day One

Happy December dear friends!! Whooo hooo!  It's my favorite time of the year!! I am so excited to bring you my take on the Twelve Days of Christmas once again!!!  I will spend the next 12 days sharing different projects and goodies with you celebrating all things Christmas!!

My first project for this series is based on the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge #142: Decorated Kraft Bags.  I was so excited to use up some scraps for this challenge and break out one of my favorite PTI Sets: Shape Up Snowman.  Love, love, love this set!!
I used PTI's Autumn Pattern Pieces to create the bottom border.  Another set I absolutely love!! I stamped the red in Pure Poppy Ink and the white was stamped with Versamark and then embossed with fine embossing powder.  I added a Confetti Garland border between my fussy cut images and the stamped border.  There are so many PTI sets that I love!!  This project uses so many of my favorites!! I love it!
The trees, gingerbread house, and snow man are all cut from various Webster's Pages papers that I have had around for quite a long time!! Whooo  hoo!!  So glad I was able to use them finally!
Isn't that little snowman the cutest!!  Sigh....I love Christmas!!!
Thanks for joining me for the first day of the 12 Days of Christmas!!  I will see you tomorrow for another installment in the series!!!!

A Little Make It Monday #138 Magic

Happy Friday Dear Friends!!!  I hope all is well with you!!  I'm starting the weekend off right with a little Creative Therapy using the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #138 Challenge along with the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.

Here's my take on the Challenges:
I have been in the Christmas Card Zone this week and what better type of card to make after a hectic week than a Peaceful Christmas Card!  Makes me take a nice deep breath and enjoy the peaceful moment!!  I used Papertrey Ink One Liners Dies and some Silver Shimmer paper.  Sigh....Silver Peace....makes all the stress totally go away!!!  I used the Inlaid Die Cut technique described here. Love, love, love this technique!!  I die cut the patterned paper and the Silver Shimmer paper and pieced them together as the video explains.  I also die cut the edge of the tree using the One Liner die too!  It all works together perfectly!!
I used PTI In the Meadow Dies to die cut the deer and the tree and I used some Basic Grey Christmas scraps for the base of the card.

Such an effective technique!!  I hope you give it a try!! You'll love the results!!

Thanks for stopping by and wish you a peaceful evening!!

Make It Monday #136 Textured Stamping

Happy Sunday sweet friends!!  I have been enjoying spectacular color and cooler weather of these beautiful fall days and I trust that you have been too!  In celebration of Fall, I have made a fun little banner using the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge.

Ashley challenged us to use a little creativity when inking our stamps to create texture and here is my take on the challenge and you can see the video here:
I swiped the stamp on the ink pad and created a rustic looking pumpkin and I totally love the texture and visual feel of the stamped image! What a fun way to add texture to your projects!!

I started by die cutting some pennants using the Papertrey Ink Basic Banners Die Colection out of Rustic Cream Cardstock layered with patterned paper strips.  This technique was inspired by my favorite crafter Melissa Phillips on her Blog Lilybean Paperie!!  She is absolutely amazing!!
I took my little pennants and embellished them with a stamped tag using Think Big Favorites #19 and added some Leaves from the Autumn Acorns set and alphas from the Jillibean Soup  Corrugated Kraft Alphabet set.

I tied all the banners together with Jute twine and added some Melissa Frances Tissue Paper Garland.  Such a fun and festive little project and a great way to say Happy Fall!!

Supplies Used:
Papertrey Ink Basic Banner Dies
Papertrey Ink Think Big Favorites #19 Stamps
Papertrey Ink Autumn Acorns stamps and dies
Papertrey Ink Orange Zest, Simply Chartreuse, Summer Sunrise,  and Harvest Gold Inks
Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Jillibean Soup Corrugated Kraft Alphas
Papertrey Ink Patterned Paper
Papertrey Ink Jute Twine

Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a happy Fall!!
