Make it Monday #137

Hi there dear friends!!  I fell in love with Melissa Phillips Make it Monday card and I just had to join in on the challenge.  I had considered trying a Christmas theme with this card, but I loved this design so much, I just had to try it this way!  I went with a bright and fun color scheme using Plum Pudding, Canyon Clay, Ripe Avocado, and Raspberry Fizz.  Love these colors together!!
I used Kraft ink to stamp the clock face and dark chocolate for the sentiment and the clock hands.  I added a double loop border that I swiped with white ink to tone down the color just a bit.  The leaves were painted with Modge Podge and then sprinkled with coarse glitter.
Thank you to Melissa for inspiring us with this challenge.  I love it!!  This card is going to be given to a dear friend of mine that spoiled me rotten on my birthday!! She will love it!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful week!!

Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop

Good Morning dear friends!!  Happy Friday!  I am so excited to share my little project with you today!! It sure does feel good to get a jump on the Holiday Season by already having a set of tags made for the packages under the tree!! I don't know if you're like me, but I'm usually making quick tags at 11:59 on Christmas Eve. I tell myself each and every year that I'll do better and this year I am a little more on top of my game!!  These tags were made for the PTI October Blog Hop.  Here's the challenge:

Before you know it, all of the gift giving that goes hand-in-hand with the upcoming holidays will be here.  This month we thought we would challenge you to get a head start and create a quick set of five gift tags.  They can be as simple or as complex as you wish, but be sure to make at least five!  For something unique, try using unique materials for the base of your tag such as paper clay, metal, jar lids, wood veneer, fabric, canvas, felt or anything else you can dream up!  Just think how good it will feel to have these tags finished up BEFORE you even start wrapping!  We look forward to seeing your creations and we hope to see you back here on the 25th!
and here's my take on the challenge:
I used a hodgepodge of supplies for these tags!  You know me, I love to mix and match stamps!  The patterned papers are Snow Village from Pink Paislee and they absolutely perfect for any and every Christmas project!!  I don't think I purchased enough for this year and I will be looking to buy a little more!
I used the house from PTI's Spring Hills set...who says you need to use Christmas themed stamps for Christmas tags?  I love getting out of the box!!  The stars were die cut using the PTI Star Border Die.
I stamped all the houses twice for each project - once on patterned paper and once on cream cardstock.  I fussy cut each roof out and glued it on the cream colored house.  I kind of mixed my love for simple and layered on these tags and chose to leave the houses in their primitive state.
The Merry Christmas Stamp is from Bells and Boughs and the Santa Image is from City Scene Christmas Sentiments...I just love that sleigh embossed in gold....so festive and totally makes me want to Believe!!
All of the embellishments are from the Pink Paislee Snow Village Ephemera package and the ribbons are all from PTI.
The Merry Christmas Stamp is from Love Lives Here Holiday and the trees are die cut from the City Scene Dies.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I look forward to more ideas from all of you!!

Make It Monday #136 Textured Stamping

Happy Sunday sweet friends!!  I have been enjoying spectacular color and cooler weather of these beautiful fall days and I trust that you have been too!  In celebration of Fall, I have made a fun little banner using the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge.

Ashley challenged us to use a little creativity when inking our stamps to create texture and here is my take on the challenge and you can see the video here:
I swiped the stamp on the ink pad and created a rustic looking pumpkin and I totally love the texture and visual feel of the stamped image! What a fun way to add texture to your projects!!

I started by die cutting some pennants using the Papertrey Ink Basic Banners Die Colection out of Rustic Cream Cardstock layered with patterned paper strips.  This technique was inspired by my favorite crafter Melissa Phillips on her Blog Lilybean Paperie!!  She is absolutely amazing!!
I took my little pennants and embellished them with a stamped tag using Think Big Favorites #19 and added some Leaves from the Autumn Acorns set and alphas from the Jillibean Soup  Corrugated Kraft Alphabet set.

I tied all the banners together with Jute twine and added some Melissa Frances Tissue Paper Garland.  Such a fun and festive little project and a great way to say Happy Fall!!

Supplies Used:
Papertrey Ink Basic Banner Dies
Papertrey Ink Think Big Favorites #19 Stamps
Papertrey Ink Autumn Acorns stamps and dies
Papertrey Ink Orange Zest, Simply Chartreuse, Summer Sunrise,  and Harvest Gold Inks
Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Jillibean Soup Corrugated Kraft Alphas
Papertrey Ink Patterned Paper
Papertrey Ink Jute Twine

Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a happy Fall!!

Fall Gratitude

Hello again!!  It feels so good to be crafting again and I have another Thank You card to share with you.  I am going to be stocking up on Thank You cards over the next several days.  There are so many reasons to say Thank You and I want to be ready to give thanks when someone touches my heart and shares a little bit of themselves with me and my family!! We have been so blessed and I feel it is important to give back as often as we can!!
Gratitude is the music of the heart, when its chords are swept by the breeze of kindness.  ~Author Unknown
Such a fabulous quote and I hope the melody of my heart shines through the cards I make!!

Inspired By...

Hi there dear friends!! It's been an inky kind of day and I decided to take part in the Simon Says Monday Challenge!!  This week's challenge is Inspired by the amazing Tammy Tutterow and I had a ball taking part in the challenge!!  There's nothing better than getting down and inky and this is what I came up with:
I was inspired by this tutorial by Tammy Tutterow and I really love the way it turned out!!  I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock and impressed a wood grain image onto the background.  I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I then die cut a Papertrey Ink Honey Comb cover plate and used it as a mask.  I took some vintage book paper and covered it with the mask and spritzed some Tattered Angels Coffee Shop and Patina inks over the book page.  Using a paint brush I painted some Modge Podge on the back side of the vintage book paper in streaks and glued it to the impressed background.  I tore away the paper that wasn't adhered to the base and inked the edges.

I then embellished the base with a decorative tag, an inked flower and leaves, some ribbon and a patterned paper circle to bring all the colors together.

Supplies used:
Papertrey Ink Kraft and Vintage Cream Paper.
Papertrey Ink Happiness In Bloom, Autumn Acorns and Boutique Borders Thanks
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge Gathered Twigs and Festive Berries
Papertrey Ink Harvest Gold, Aqua Mist, Scarlet Jewel, and Canyon Clay Inks

Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!
