and here's my take on the challenge:
I stamped and embossed the background panel with Background Basics: Venice and then I sponged the base with Hawaiian Shores, Plum Pudding, Hibiscus Burst and Blueberry Sky inks. The Butterfly was inspired by one of my favorite card makers Melissa Phillips.  She is amazing!!  I added some stamped banners and a die cut sentiment.  I die cut the rolled rose and added a pearl and leaf embellishment to complete the card.
PTI Supplies Used:  Beautiful Butterfly Dies, Life Is Beautiful Dies, Songbirds Stamps and Dies, Swoosh Dies, and Background Basics: Venice Stamps.
Thank you so much for stopping by!! I can't wait to see what  you have created!!!
Have a wonderful day,

Papertrey Ink MIM #201: Cover Plate Stencils and Embossing Paste

Good morning sweet friends!!  I have a fun little card to share with you today for the Papertrey Ink MIM Challenge.  Here's the challenge:

MAKE IT MONDAY #201: COVER PLATE STENCILS AND EMBOSSING PASTE

--Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a Cover Plate Die stencil.
and here's my take on the Challenge:

I used Betsy Veldman's Beautiful Brushstrokes stamp set and the Chevron Cover Plate for this challenge.  I started by die cutting the Chevron Cover Plate and then adhered the die cut to the white card panel with some Washi Tape.  I spread some Teresa Collins Essential Modeling Paste onto the panel with a spatula tool and let it dry.  Love the dimension it creates!!  I then die cut and stamped the florals with black ink.  I then stamped a light base on the florals and then added some watercolor contrast.  Love, love, love these florals!!

I added some rub ons to add a little more black contrast and then mounted the panel onto a Hibiscus Burst Card base.  I plan on adding a bible verse to the inside for a card to send a bright ray of sunshine to a friend who needs a little encouragment in her day.

Thanks for stopping by!!

I used metallic gold paper, printed paper and gold embossing for this challenge. The stamps and dies include PTI's Life Is Beautiful butterfly die, Circle Scribbles Die and the sentiment is from the Friendly Flowers stamp set.

This was such a fun card to make!! Gold is one of my new favorites!!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Day 2 - Maile Returens

Hi everyone!! Whooo hooo!  It's hard to believe it, but I am back once again with a project for the Papertrey Ink 8th Anniversary Challenge!!   I can't even say how much I have missed crafting so this challenge is absolutely just what the doctor ordered!!!  Here's the challenge:
I think it is safe to say that we ALL admire Maile and her incredible sense of style!  Take a few moments and peruse through her blog to explore all of the amazing projects she has made over the years.  Select a project that you find particularly inspiring and make your own project using elements from her card.
Maile is so amazing and has so many amazing designs to choose from, it was hard to pick just one.  After much searching and deliberation, I chose this card of Maile's for my inspiration and here's my take on the challenge:
I used a black card base and layered a white panel on top.  I cut several happy's out of Tinsel and Tags patterned paper along with a stamped birthday banner.  I added a fun little arrow from the Phrase Play #3 die to complete the design.
Thanks for stopping by!!!  Hope you have a wonderful evening!!

Papertrey Ink 8th Anniversary Celebration Day 1 - Inspiration Cards

Whooo hooo!!  Hi there dear friends!!  I am so excited to get out my stamping goodies and participate in Papertrey Ink's  first day of festivities!

Here's the challenge:
1. Create a new project that uses one Color Recipe Card and one Sketch Recipe Card:

PTI8-color-inspiration-3
PTI8-sketch-inspiration-7
and here's my take on the challenge:
I stamped the pattern with one of my old favorites, PTI's Polka Dot Basics in Aqua Mist Ink that I misted with a spritz of water.  I was going for a bit of a watercolor look with this card.  I inked up the Rosie Posie florals and spritzed each one with a squirt of water and stamped them onto a watercolor paper panel.  I used Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, Ripe Avocado, and Spring Moss.  I totally love the watercolor feel of the stamped images!
I die cut the Wet Paint sentiment and stamped the birthday image.  I layered the watercolor panel on top of a Aqua Mist card base.

Very quick and simple and I am loving the color combination!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!!
Have a wonderful evening!!
