What a Challenge!!!

This week I challenged myself to make a set of masculine cards, and I am very pleased with the results!!!!! It was so hard for me to make a set of cards with no flowers, ribbons, lace and any other kind of bauble that I love to play with!!! I just have to say, though, that these papers from Graphic 45 were so easy to put together, I didn't miss my usual embellishments as much as I thought I would!!! I will let you in on a fun little secret....these papers, as well as all the other new lines of Graphic 45 papers, will be available in Bozeman for you to purchase very soon!!!! Whooo hoo!!! I can't wait!!! Stay tuned for more details to come!!!

Birthday Wishes!!!!

Birthday Wishes go out to my Dad today!!! Happy Birthday Dad!!!!!
This is one of my favorite pictures that was taken during his visit last year!!! How precious is this photo of Heidi and my dad?? Hope you have a wonderful day, Dad!!! We miss you tremendously!!

Scrapping the Music #123

This week's song is based on Better Way by Ben Harper. I loved the lyrics, "You have a right to your Dreams".
I thought it would be fun to use a picture of Heidi. She has gone through so many ups and downs and is
still working hard to fulfill her dreams and I hope she is encouraged by this layout to keep on fighting for those
dreams!!!

Supplies:
Cream Bazzill Cardstock
Prima Lace, Flowers, Leaf, and Butterfly
Vintage Book Paper
CI Patterned Paper
Ranger Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, and Walnut Ink
Tim Holtz Mask
Papertrey Stamps
Vintage Book Paper and Buttons
Since I have been teaching "Thinking Inking" classes, I thought it would be fun if I used these techniques on my STM layout. In addition to masking and layering the ink, I also used a paintbrush and a mini mister to apply water to the inked paper and I just love the look!!!!

I hope you get a chance to join in the fun at Scrapping the Music this week!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

I wish you a blessed evening!!

Vintage Book Paper Flower Tutorial

Good morning everyone!!
What a blessed morning it is!! It is cold and snowy and gray outside, but my dear hubby is home all day long and that makes me very warm and happy inside!! I hope you have a ray of sunshine in your day wherever you may be!!!

I am excited to share this tutorial with you because it is very easy and cost effective and the results are fantastic!!! I just love making embellishments out of supplies I have around the house! I have collected a few vintage books over the years and I love using them in as many projects as I can!! Next time you are at a garage sale...check and see if you can find some old books...they will come in handy many times over!!!!

Supplies Needed:
Vintage book Paper or book paper that has been inked to appear vintage
Scallop Circle Punch
Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher
Distress Ink

Punch 16 circles out of the book paper.
Layer them together.
Staple with the tiny attacher as shown.
Begin crinkling the flower layers to the center one petal at a time.
Continue crinkling the layers until you get to the last 4 layers. Those layers can be crinkled slightly to the back side of the flower to give it fullness.
Add color to your flower with Distress Inks. I used Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain, but any colors will make this flower absolutely awesome!!!

Here is the finished product. You may even want to add a button or other embellishment to the center for fun!!!
If you have any questions, leave me a note or email me at klockart@msn.com and I will answer any questions you may have!!!

Enjoy!!

Little Red Scrapbook Reveal!!!

I have to share my Little Red Scrapbook DT work with you tonight. I have to admit the colors of the Basic Grey Origins line scared me with all the greens, yellows and browns. I love lots of color, especially pink and these papers are a long ways from pinks!! Sara added some vintage dictionary pages with this kit though, and I love everything vintage. I got the wild idea to add a scalloped border with the vintage pages and I really love how it turned out.
This layout of my girls is my favorite of the month!! I love this picture and it was fun documenting their love of shopping!! They really are kindred spirits!! The shoe Sara added in the kit was perfect for this layout too!! Such a fun addition!!

This green floral paper reminded me of an old calico pattern and immediately I thought of my mom! I found an old picture and added some fun little flowers and some butterflies punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I will add a flower tutorial in the next day or so to show you how to make those flowers!!
This next layout once again is of my sweet girls!!! I just had to document how much they appreciate each other!!! I just love that my kids all love each other so much!! What a lucky family we are!!!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today!!!
I hope you have a wonderful day!

I will be putting it in the mail in the afternoon and I hope she loves it as much as I have enjoyed making it!! Happy Wednesday!!!

Whoo hoo!! We've made it through half the week, just one half left to go!! Valentine's day is just around the corner! I just have to say that I love Valentine's Day! It's all about love and if you are a romantic at heart like me, you can't help but love everything about it!! The romance, the hearts and all the delicious pink and red colors everywhere....pure bliss!!! I have been having some fun with Pink Paislee's Cupid line, but tonight I thought I would throw in a bit of Fancy Pants for a change!! 'fancy Pants Vintage Valentine is just that...very vintage and very Valentine. I just love the kraft background that runs through all the papers....swoon...I just love kraft paper too!!!

For this project I used my trusted Cricut machine to make the pocket out of Kraft paper. I used the Sweethearts cartridge at 4 3/4".

Supplies:
Kraft Paper
Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine Papers: Ever Dear and Valentine Cards
Pink Paislee Cupid Press Ons
Pink Paislee Cupid Punch Outs
Lace
Buttons
Ribbon
Stamp the pocket with Papertrey Ink Heart Background Stamp with Pure Poppy Ink and ink all the edges with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Amaretto Ink. Cut a 1/2 inch strip of striped paper and glued it to the bottom of the pocket and added ribbon, lace and buttons. Cut out the angel from the pattern paper and layer it over a Pink Paislee Punch Out. Then, add the Press On sentiment from Pink Paislee.
Cut out the tag from the Valentine Cards Paper and round the corners and you have a quick and easy Vintage Valentine!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Don't ya just love...

a Cinderella Story!!! Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints on their first Super Bowl win!! I just love it when the underdog wins!!! It just makes me smile!!! What a superbowl it was and the commercials were pretty fun too!!! Loved the Doritos Commericals and the Snickers commerical with Betty White and Abe Vigoda...Hilarious! I thoroughly enjoyed the evening!!!

Scrapping the Music!!!

This week's song is based on All Star by Smashmouth from the Movie Shrek. It's an absolutely awesome song to scrap!!! There are so many avenues to run with!! I hope you all join in the fun this week!!! Check out the challenge here!!!
Here is my take on the song for this week:
These pictures were taken at CHA last month where I had the pleasure of meeting past and present Scrapping the Music Design Team members!! What a thrill it was!!! I just had to use the lyrics "so much to see" when doing this layout because there was so much to see at CHA, but seeing my fellow scrappers in real life was definitely a highlight!!! I took a make and take class from Nathalie Kalbach that taught us how to make these wonderful flowers and I just had to use them in my layout!! Nathalie, you totally rock my friend!!!! I was able to meet Julie Tucker-Wolek, (isn't she just amazing!!!), and the absolutely sweet and uber-talented Lucy Edson!!! What a joy it all was...You should see the huge smile on my face when I think about it!!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!
I wish you an amazing Monday!!!
