Feeling Good!!

This week's song at Scrapping the Music is Feelin' Good" by Nina Simone and has so many wonderful lyrics to scrap!!!! I chose to use the title of the song as the title of my layout and I added to the lyrics to describe where my heart is these days.
The butterfly stands for hope and I choose to have hope even though things are really tough right now!! It's a new day, I have hope, its gonna be ok!
I had a lot of fun with this layout and I hope you will all join in the fun at STM!!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful evening!!!

Hero Arts Cards #1

Good Morning my friends!!!
I hope you had a great weekend!! We had some crazy weather here in Montana, but we did see the sunshine intermittently so that definitely brightened up our days!!!

We had a wonderful time with dad yesterday!! We were able to put in one of our square foot garden plots and finished planting one of our flower beds. It was so nice to work outside for a change. We grilled steaks in the afternoon and during the evening we had fun being storm chasers!! We saw some amazing lightning strikes and the rain was so heavy and fierce, we couldn't even hear each other talk. I think dad truly enjoyed the day!!

I wanted to share with you one of the Hero Arts Cards that I taught in my class last week.

Scrapping the Music!!

With Father's Day coming up on Sunday, we are featuring the song "Father and Friend," by Alain Clark and his dad Dane Clark! It's an awesome duet with fantastic lyrics!!! I chose to use a picture of Benny and his daddy that was taken just before he left for basic training last year. He left as a boy and came home a man. Its so hard to believe a whole year has gone by, but yet it seams a lifetime ago. The lyrics I chose are as follows:
O sonny, so strange, to hear and see
That someone so different is, a soul like me.
You may have gone right, where I would have gone left.
But son, that’s alright. I will always have your back
See even though. I don’t always show.
I’m proud of you, my son.

Perfect lyrics for these two!!! I hope you join us this week and if you don't feel led to do a page about fathers, the design team at Scrapping the Music has many examples of other perspectives using this song!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!!!

Little Red Scrapbook June Reveal

Hi there my friends!!! The June Gallery at LRS has been revealed so I thought I should get my projects up on my blog!!!! I just loved how easy this kit was to work with and I think that my cards were my favorite projects of the kit!!!
I just love it when the papers have patterns that you can cut out!!! These flowers were perfect to use as embellishments!!!! I also used a Hero Arts Stamp on this card.
Karrie gave us a challenge to cut our pictures and assemble them together on our projects. I chose to cut up one of the papers and reassemble on a card. The BG stickers were a perfect match with the papers!!
I bought the alpha add on and decided it would be fun to dye them with my Copic Markers. I just love the effect!!! As always, with Benny's layouts, I don't add any frills, so I thought it would be fun to cut out some Carino's Grill pieces and embellish with some Tim Holtz from my stash.
The die cut paper in this kit was absolutely awesome. I just love ledger paper!!!
My challenge for everyone was to create their own unique background. Sara and Rachel included Glimmer Mist in the kit, so I used a glimmer screen and plenty of distress ink to add to my background. Way fun!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I will be back to share my Scrapping the Music layout!!!
Have a wonderful day!!!

Celebrating 26 Years!!!

I remember when we were first married.....we would look at couples who had been together for ten years and think, "WoW!" that's a long time. Now we are the "old" couple who have been married forever....how did time go by so quickly?? It hasn't always been easy. I know I can be difficult to live with, but I have a husband who is very caring and compassionate. A true soul-mate who is still my very best friend!! We work way too much these days, but we still make sure to find the time to spend together. Whether it is a cup of coffee on the front porch or a sandwich between jobs, we make sure to have those moments to connect. I am so thankful for my husband!!! We have been blessed beyond measure!
This is one of my favorite pictures of us. It shows the love...(along with the wrinkles, lol) that we have for one another. I look forward to another 26 years sweetie!!! I love you!!

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Scrapping the Music!!!

I just love the Scrapping the Music Challenge!!! It is one challenge that always speaks to my heart in one way or another!!! This week's song by Chasen is no exception!!! The lyrics to Crazy, Beautiful are so true and I think we all need to remember that we don't need to have anyone's approval, we have to believe in ourselves and who God made us to be!!! Here are the lyrics in case you haven't heard this song before:

Everybody’s been there everyone’s the same
but mostly we don’t care isn’t that a shame
We bring us down face after face
the inside is beautiful but the outside we want to change.
We want to change.
Whoa you’re oh so beautiful, you don’t need anyone’s approval
You’ve got to believe in your self you know you are
You’re crazy beautiful
Well every new year you say your gonna change
From the way you live to how much you weigh,
we don’t want to change.
Whoa you’re oh so beautiful, you don’t need anyone’s approval
You’ve got to believe in your self you know you are
You’re crazy beautiful
Take a look it’s all around you
See the world from different views
The way you shine from the inside
I know with out a doubt
It’s more than what you’ll be
In the world’s eyes.
Whoa you’re oh so beautiful, you don’t need anyone’s a approval
You’ve got to believe in your self you know you are
You’re crazy beautiful

and here is my layout:
Its a simple one, but its the lyrics that need to shine!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!
