Feeling a little "Nutty" tonight

Hi my creative friends!  I have been feeling very under the weather lately and I've been spending more time sleeping than crafting.  I am so tired of being sick, I thought I should just craft right through it tonight!  So I searched for a challenge and found the Vertical Sketch Challenge over at Moxie Fab World!!

Here's the sketch:
and here's my take on the sketch:
I just had to break out my brand new Papertrey Ink Autumn Acorn stamps for this one!! As I was going through my felt to cut out the sweet little leaves, I realized that I need to buy more!  I am so glad I had a little Simply Chartreuse felt leftover or I would have been very disappointed!  You can be sure I have already loaded my cart full of felt, especially with the holidays on the horizon!!
I cut the leaves out of Simply Chartreuse felt and added a little stitching.  I die cut the acorns and then stamped the acorn twice, once on cardstock and once on patterned paper.  I just love the different patterns available in the stamp set.  They are just tooooo cute!!

Papertrey Ink Supplies Used:
Rustic Cream Cardstock
Fall Prints and Patterns Patterned Paper
Autumn Acorn Stamps and Dies
Simply Chartreuse Felt
Fine Linen Twill Ribbon and Buttons
Other Supplies:  Prima Lace; Memento Rich Cocoa Ink; Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink

Thanks for stopping by!!  I'm off to get more rest!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday,

Fairy Whispers with Glitz Design

Hi there dear friends!!  This week I've been having some fun playing with my Afternoon Muse Fairy Whispers Stamp.  I stamped the back side of the Love Games Poppies paper with the Fairy Whispers stamp and ended up using the strip on both of my cards for today.
I stitched two strips of the stamped papers to a wide strip of Rustic Cream Cardstock.  I added a die cut strip of Vintage Hymnal paper and added Glitz Design Peek a Boos along with Tim Holtz Accoutrements and Vintage Ephemera to embellish the card.
Supplies Used:
Glitz Design "Love Games" Papers:  Poppies

Glitz Design "Laced with Grace" Peek a Boos
Other Supplies:  Vintage Hymnal Paper; Tim Holtz Accoutrements; Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Ephemera; Hand Dyed Seam Binding: MemrieMare; Prima Floral

In the second card for today, I used a strip of stamped patterned paper and a strip of Laced With Grace Paper Layers and stitched them to a wide Rustic Cream strip.
I used Glitz Design Laced with Grace Paper Layers and Peek A Boos to embellish the card. Aren't they beautiful together?  I added some small pearls to embellish the Peek A Boo frame and some Prima Lace to add some texture and shabby chic style!
Supplies used:
Glitz Design "Love Games" Papers:  Poppies
Glitz Design "Afternoon Muse" Stamps
Glitz Design "Laced with Grace" Peek a Boos

Pink Persimmon and The Shabby Tea Room #77

Happy Monday morning dear friends!!  I am happy to say that I am finally feeling better after having the worst chest cold I have had in quite a long time.  What a long haul that's for sure, but thank goodness for sick days.  Although I was a little embarrassed to call in sick on the 4th day of school, but it couldn't be helped.  Whew, hopefully my immune system will be a little stronger over the school year!!  Thank goodness I was all caught up on my Design Team goodies before I succumbed to illness!!

One of the projects I have been dying to share with you is a fun little card I made using Pink Persimmon goodies for The Shabby Tea Room!!!  Pink Persimmon is this week's sponsor and they are giving away a $40 gift certificate, so I hope you join in the fun!!  This week's theme is all about "Birthstones":
... and Pattie asks that we create a card or project inspired by the color of YOUR birthstone ...

My birthday is in October, so my birthstone is a beautiful shade of rose, which of course you know is my favorite color!!!  So here's my take on the challenge:
I used several Pink Persimmon Stamp sets for this card!!  I just love each and every one of the Pink Persimmon Sets!!  I stamped the toy images from Baby Clothesline onto Rustic Cream Cardstock and enhanced each of the images with a soft pink Copic Marker.  I stamped the banner onto patterned paper and fussy cut each one and created the fun little banner.  I mounted the banner onto some vintage hymnal paper...one of my favorites in my collection!!  I stamped the small flower from the Large Banner Collection to make my own patterned paper and I fussy cut some of the flowers as well!  Such a fun little technique! Then, I embellished the card with machine stitching and a sweet hand dyed seam ribbon bow.

Supplies Used:
Pink Persimmon Stamps:  Large and small Banner, Baby Clothesline, and Baby Greetings
Patterned Paper:  Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe
Prima Lace
Recollections Rose
Copic Markers
Recollections Pearls
Hand Dyed Seam Ribbon:  MemrieMare

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Card Patterns #128

Happy Saturday dear friends!!! I'm having a great time with my kids in Washington today!! We toured the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and what an amazing experience that was. My son-in-law works as an engineer at the shipyard and today was family day and family days only come around every five years! We feel very fortunate to have been able to see where Matt works and tour the USS Nemitz and various other buildings in the shipyard. I wasn't able to take my camera into the shipyard, so there will be no pictures to post. Bummer, but what a great experience it was just the same!!

I am excited to share today's Card Patterns sketch with you and what a great sketch it is!
Here's the sketch:
and here's my take on the sketch:
I used my Little Red Scrapbook kit once again with this week's sketch!  I thought the colors of the papers made a very happy card and as you can see from the sketch, I took liberty and used the sunshine to fill in for the focal point in the sketch and added a ribbon at the top of the card.  I also machine stitched all the cardstock seams and I absolutely love the look!
Supplies used:
Little Red Scrapbook August Kit: Echo Park Country Drive Papers and stickers
Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock and Happy Trails Stamps
Bazzill Just the Edge
Hand Dyed Seam Binding: MemrieMare

Welcome Baby and Tickled Pink

Good morning my dear friends!!  I'm being a little nostalgic this morning.  We are on our way to visit our kids in Washington one last time this summer, and as I ponder how amazing it will be for us all to be together again, I think back to those long ago days when each of them were born!  What special days those were!!!  Children are a gift from God and I am so thankful for each one of my amazing kids!!  I remember the excitement of family and friends when they received the news that our babies had arrived!

Now, I am the one who is filled with excitement when I hear the news of a new baby and what better way to share in the excitement, than to make a special card for the new parents.  Today I am going to share two sweet little cards that celebrate amazing gift of new life!

The first card is made using Pink Persimmon's Baby Clothesline and Baby Greeings!  I sure do love these stamps!! They inspire me to create the sweetest baby cards and I know they will inspire you too!

I used Crate Paper's Emma's Shop patterned paper, Papertrey Ink's Rustic Cream Cardstock, and some vintage music paper to create this card.  The dress is stamped from patterned paper and the sweaters from cardstock.  I colored in the sweater with R0000 Pink Beryl, R000 Cherry White, and R20 Blush Copic markers, I fussy cut each one, and I adhered them to the front of my card in clothesline fashion.  I machine stitched the seams and added a sweet hand dyed seam binding ribbon.  What a fun card to make and I will truly enjoy giving it away!!!

The second card I thought would be fun to use the same stamps in a different way.  I created my own patterned paper using a single heart from the set and colored them in with a B0000 Pale Celestine Copic Marker.  A different look all together, but sweet just the same!
I added some Papertrey Ink ribbon, a button and Prima lace to enhance the card.    I think it's fun to get out of my box and use the stamps in different and unique ways!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!! I am so excited to share these sweet projects with you!!
Have a wonderful day!!

Sweet Baby Invites with Pink Persimmon

Good morning dear friends!!  What a gorgeous morning it is!! Summer days just bring out the "happy" in me if you know what I mean!!  I guess you also have to understand that I live in Montana, and some years, summer days are very limited!  I am very thankful indeed!!!

Today I want to share with you some fun little baby invitations that I made using Pink Persimmon's Baby Clothesline Stamps.
Aren't they absolutely adorable? I thought it would be fun to make several different invitations, each one a little different than the other.

I cut the cards out with my Cricut Machine using the Wild Card Cartridge and the Doily base with the blackout feature.  I printed the invitation details out on my computer and cut them out with a Spellbinders Nestalbilities Standard Circle Die.
Each card features a fussy cut element from the stamp set using scraps from my stash.
Of course, I had to throw in a vintage element!! I used a scalloped piece of vintage hymnal paper on each one.  So simple, yet very effective!!  I also had to embellish each invite with my signature hand-dyed seam binding ribbon.
I embellished each bow with flowers and buttons to add that sweet little touch to make each card special!
I also lightly inked all the edges to add to the vintage effect!
I stamped the little sailor suit onto blue cardstock and colored in the trim with a Zig Chalk Collection Calligraphy pen.  I just love the subtle effect it gives!!  I used Pink Persimmon's Baby Greetings Stamp Set to stamp the sentiment.
I love that you can manipulate the sentiment on your block to curve it the way you want it to look on your card.  These cards called for the sentiment to be curved in a semi circle and it was no problem at all!  I also used the hearts from this collection and colored them in with a Copic Marker.  There are so many possibilities with these sets!!  I just love them!!
Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Pink Persimmon Baby Clothesline and Baby Greetings
Cricut Machine:  Wild Card Cartridge
Papertrey Ink Cardstock:   Sweet Blush, Spring Rain, Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart, Rustic Cream
Vintage Hymnal Paper
Hand Dyed Seam Binding:  MemrieMare
Ink:  Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink; Memento Tuxedo Black
Buttons, Flowers, and paper scraps from my stash
Zig Calligraphy White Chalk Pen
Copic Markers:
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and sharing the fun with me!!!  I appreciate you!!!

Card Patterns #127

Happy Saturday sweet friends!!!  I hope you are having a wonderful day!!!  I had a great morning at the Farmer's Market and I'm not quite sure what this evening holds, but I am going to enjoy it no matter what we do!!  It's good to stop and take a time out from the craziness of the week!  I do have to be honest, I am so sad it's already the 6th of August!  School will be starting before we know it!  I did take time to clean my laundry room, pantry and oven this week! It feels so good to get some of those chores accomplished!!  I still have more to do before we have one last visit with our kids, but what gets done, gets done.  I can't fret over such things!  The house will always need to be cleaned, but taking time out for family is what matters!  I am also happy to say that my boy moved back home!!  I am very thankful to spend more time with him before he is deployed to Afghanistan next year.  I will take all the time with him that I can get!!!  So, I am a happy mom, a very happy mom!! I am so very thankful for the little blessings in my life!!

I am also thankful for this hobby that I love so much!!!  I am loving being a part of Card Patterns and I am excited to share this week's sketch with you!!!
