Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenges

Happy Valentine's Day dear friends!! I 'm so excited that I was able to get a couple of cards done for the Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenge and share them with you!! Here's the first challenge:
The-challenge
In honor of Betsy's new Dress Up Dolls, go through your closet or explore a favorite clothing store online and select a piece of clothing or outfit to use as inspiration for a project.  Whether you select something simple or a bit more complex, this is sure to be a fun one!  Be sure to share a photo of your inspiration somewhere in your blog post too!
And here's my take on the challenge:
My sweet daughter Heidi's birthday was this week and I created a birthday card based on her love of gold accents.   She is planning a destination wedding in Mexico and at a recent Bridal Affair we saw a beautiful pink dress with gold accents and the inspiration for this card was born.
Sparkly Gold + Pink. Yes, please!:
I added a Lovely Lady diagonal striped background and die cut the sentiment.  The gold accents totally make me smile!! They will always make me think of my sweet Heidi girl!!   I had some fun water coloring an ombre background with Hibiscus Pink Ink and die cut a Papertrey Ink Primitive heart as the focal point.  I layered the heart on a while and gold heart and then I used the florals from the Fresh Floral Wrap as accents and added a few layered butterflies.  Such a fun and happy birthday card!!

and the next challenge I had fun with was:

We've put a little something fun together for you today in honor of the last day of our anniversary countdown!  We present the Paper Crafting Alphabet Challenge!  Use anywhere from the first three to ALL of the letters in your first or last name.  Write the letters in a single column on a piece of scratch paper and then use the chart below as a reference for each of those letters, making notes about what you need to incorporate into your project.  If you have a "double" letter, skip the duplicate letter and move onto the next letter in your name.  Use your first or last name, depending on which one has a more interesting array of letters.  If you want to keep things simple, just use the first three letters of your name, if you want something more complex and challenging use all of the letters in your name!  And most importantly, have fun!
I had a lot of fun with this challegne!!  I used my last name:
L - Lean my sentiment at an angle
O - Incorporate some kind of ombre - I used ink on my background panel to create the ombre effect
C - Use at least 5 colors - Kraft, Sweet Blush, Cream, Spring Moss, Autumn Rose and Cream
K- Use Kraft Cardstock
A - Add a border - I layered a cream panel on top of my kraft cardstock to create the border effect
R - Round all or some of your corners
T - Tie on some twine

It was a great challenge and it gave me an excuse to break open my Bold Blossom Stamp set and dies!!
Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you have a wonderful day!!
Kristii
