Dance in Sunshine- Christmas

Good Morning dear friends!!!  I have some more Christmas projects for you using Glitz Design Dance in Sunshine Goodies!  When I first saw the Dance in Sunshine line, the first thing that came to my mind was my kids!  The rainy theme of the papers reminded me of Seattle which is where my kids are located.  I put that thought out of my head, though, and I decided to take on the challenge to make Christmas goodies with these beautiful papers and embellishments.

In my first project for today I used the Dance in Sunshine Damask paper along with Dance in Sunshine Peek a Boos for a very Victorian themed card:
I fussy cut the vintage lady and yellow roses and added the remaining part of the Peek a Boo to the background.  I die cut the Christmas trees and stamped them with Papertrey Ink's Holiday Lights stamps and then embossed with Fine Gold Embossing Powder.  After I embossed the trees, I inked them with Tim Holtz new Evergreen Bough Distress Ink and added pearls to light the trees.
From this viewpoint, you can see just how pretty the Victorian lady is!!  I just love Glitz Design Peek a Boos!  They totally add a whole new dimension to each and every project you make!

Supplies used:
Glitz Design "Dance in Sunshine" Paper: Damask
Glitz Design "Dance in Sunshine" Peek a Boos
Papertrey Ink: Rustic Cream Cardstock and Holiday Photo Finisher Dies and Stamps
Hand-Dyed Seam Binding: MemrieMare
Recollections Pearls
Doily from my stash
Tim Holtz Distress Ink:  Tea Dye and Evergreen Bough
Prima Floral and Lace
Memento Ink:  Tuxedo Black

I used the same goodies to make a little gift card holder:

I die cut the envelope out of Dance in Sunshine Damask Paper.  The inside of the gift card holder is a beautiful yellow and contrasts perfectly with the bright blue Walmart gift card.
I wrapped the envelope with some vintage hymnal paper.
I framed a Dance in Sunshine Whatnot with a Prima frame and added ribbon and roses to embellish.

I embossed a tag with Silver Fine Embossing powder and inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
Although gift card holders are easy to make, a little extra embellishing can make them very special indeed!!

Supplies used:
Glitz Design "Dance in Sunshine" Paper: Damask
Glitz Design  "Dance in Sunshine" Whatnots
Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock, Ribbon, Gift Card Holder Die, Holiday Lights Stamps and Holiday Photo Finishers Dies and Stamps
Prima Shabby Metal Baroque Frame
Recollections Roses
Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Tea Dye
Vintage Hymnal Paper

Thanks for stopping by!!
Wishing you a very Glitzy Day,

Happy Monday before Christmas!!

Happy Monday before Christmas my friends!!  I have lots to do before my family begins to arrive!! I'll be getting up early and staying up late to get it all done, but it will be worth it when I will be able to relax while they're here!!

We are taking a couple of weeks off at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps to enjoy the holiday, so I will take the opportunity to share some Christmas projects that I am working on in these days just before Christmas.

Vintage Christmas with Lisa Pace's  Antiquated Collection by Pink Persimmon :
I stamped the absolutely beautiful image onto Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. Then, I covered the card base with a Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Whatnot.   I added a couple of strips of Melissa Frances Deck the Halls paper and stitched the edges.  I added lace, buttons, and a sweet little leaf along the bottom edge.

Along the top edge of the card I added a beautiful red seam binding bow, a button and a K and Co. Chipboard embellishment.  Sigh....I just love vintage goodies!!!

This weekend I made two batches of one of our favorite Christmas candy recipes and I thought I would share it with you!

Rocky Road

Ingredients:
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
2 cups dry-roasted peanuts
1 (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows

Directions
In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and butter with EAGLE BRAND®; remove from heat.  In large bowl, combine peanuts and marshmallows; stir in chocolate mixture. Spread in wax paper lined 13X9-inch baking pan. Chill 2 hours or until firm.
Remove from pan; peel off paper and cut into squares. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

So easy to make and absolutely delicious!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Prickley Pear December Sketch Challenge

Hi there dear, sweet friends!!  I hope you are enjoying the holiday season.  I'm feeling much better today!  I was able to sleep until 3:00 am which is a definite improvement from the day before!  Needless to say, my week didn't turn out as expected and I am so far behind, but I am not going to stress about it.  What is, is. And what's done, is done.  The reality is that "The best Christmas gift of all is the presence of a happy family all wrapped up with one another."  We will get by without all the rest, it's having our family together that counts!!

Well, it's time for the Prickley Pear December Sketch Challenge and I have to tell you I just love the card I have to share with you today!!  I used the Snowman Postage Stamp along with October Afternoon Holiday Style papers and I just love the combination!!!
I stamped the snowman several times on different papers and fussy cut him out.
I glued all the pieces together and added him to my fun little Christmas scene.
I also fussy cut some ornaments from the OA papers and I am so happy with the way it turned out!  October Afternoon always has the best patterns and colors!!

Here's the sketch the card is based on:
I do hope you'll join in the fun this month!!  It's a fabulous sketch for sure!!!

Prickley Pear Mondays - Ellie x 2

Hi there sweet friends!!!  I hope all is well wherever you are!!  I've been nursing a very sore wisdom tooth for the past couple of days and so I am a bit behind! I have a dentist appointment this morning, so hopefully I will have some relief from the pain soon and I can get back to crafting like normal.  I'vee been working on a little framed wall art project for day 11 and I look forward to sharing it with you as soon as I can!

In the meantime, I have a Prickley Pear Monday project for you featuring Ellie the little snowgirl  and the Gift of the Season senitment.
I used the new October Afternoon Holiday Style 8x8 Papers and Stickers for this project.  I just love the patterns and colors in the collection and you can be sure I will be making many more Christmas goodies with them in the days to come!!
I stamped Ellie 4 times, twice on ledger paper and once on the red polka dot and the blue snowflake.  I fussy cut all the pieces out and then assembled them.  I made their cheeks rosy with an R0000 Pink Beryl Copic Marker.  Aren't they the custest?

Supplies Used:

Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock

Thanks for stopping by!!!  I'm off to the dentist....wish me luck!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 10 Nativity Silhouettes and Card Patterns

Happy Day 10 sweet friends!!!  Today is Card Patterns Saturday and I have a fun little card based on the Card Patterns Sketch to share with you as well as a new technique!!!
Here's the sketch:

and the sponsor:

Monica was so generous to us and I was absolutely thrilled to try the art of metal sheet embossing!!  I have to say it is a wonderful technique and the results are amazing!!!  I I used Stampin Up's Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and ran the metal through my Big Shot just like a regular piece of paper and the result is a crisp and shiny embossed image!! Why haven't I tried this sooner!! Thanks Monica!!!!  I just love metal sheet embossing!

I cut out a 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of Vintage Hymnal paper and punched a 1 3/4" hole in it and also punched the edge with Martha Stewart's Doily Lace Punch.
I stamped the Nativity Silhouettes with Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Ink and placed them over the punched hole so that the embossed metal would show through.  There is such a striking difference between the paper and the metal!!

Supplies Used:
Add a Little Dazzle Colored Metal Sheet
Stampin Up! Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder
Papertrey Ink Nativity Silhouettes Die and Stamps; Photo Finisher Die and Stamps
Hand Dyed Seam Binding and Glitter Star: MemrieMare
Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock
Vintage Hymnal Paper
Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink

Thanks for stopping by!!!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 9 Santa Paintbrush Ornament

Hi there dear friends!!! Happy 9th day of Christmas!!  I'm feeling a little under the weather today, there's only 16 days left in the season and there's lots of work to be done!!  Today, I have a fun little ornament that's quick and easy to make.  In fact, I used to  make these with my kids when they were younger.  They also make fabulous Christmas presents for friends and family alike!!!
You can use any size paint brush and I like to think that different sizes give the Jolly Old Elf a little extra bit of personality!!!
In addition to these ingredients, I also used a flesh colored pom pom and some glittery snow.

The first step is to paint the brush handle red and the brush white.  Then, paint a little flesh color along the band for the face and add the facial features.  Then comes the fun part....add all the snowy goodness.  There is no right nor wrong way, just have fun with it!!!
The last step is to add a little hanger and your all set to go!!!

Thanks for joining me in my 12 Days of Christmas adventure!!
I'll be back for more fun tomorrow!!!
Have a wonderful day,
Kristii

Twelve Days of Christmas - Day 8 Front and Center

Happy 8th day of Christmas sweet friends!!!  Today I have a fun little project featuring Papertrey Ink's Front and Center Die!
I started off my Front and Center adventure by running a large glassine bag through my Big Shot with the die.
I almost decorated the glassine bag itself, but I really wanted to make a little Christmas scene with Papertrey Ink's In the Meadow Die Cuts.  So, I covered the glassine bag with Glitz Design Polka Paper and vintage hymnal paper.  Then I added the die cuts, ribbon, and jingle bells to embellish.  I absolutely love the trees that are die cut out of embossed paper.  So pretty!
I added the sentiment to the bag using Papertrey Ink's Photo Finishers Die and Stamps.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Polka Paper
Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream and True Black Cardstock
Papertrey Ink In the Meadow Dies
Papertrey Ink Photo Finisher Dies and Stamps
Embossed paper and Jingle Bells from my stash
Papertrey Ink Glassine Bags and Button Twine
Prima Lace

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 7 Tea Dyed Stocking featuring Lisa Pace's Dr. Warner's Corsets

Happy 7th Day of Christmas my friends!!! I have a fun little tea-dyed stocking project for you today!!
1.  Tea Dye any stocking or sock.  I purchased my stocking already tea-dyed from Real Deals.
2.  Stamp Vintage image and color.  I used Lisa Pace's Dr. Warner's Corsets from her Antiquated Collection by Pink Persimmon.
I just have to say that the Dr. Warner's Corsets is my favorite stamp so far from her collection, but that is until I work with the other sets! They are all absolutely fabulous!

These are the Copic Markers I used for this project:
3.  After coloring, I cut the image to size and then I painted it with Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.  When the paint was dry, I heavily inked the entire image with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  You can see the depth the crackle paint and ink added to the image.
4.  I framed the image with Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Ornate Plates and adhered the image to the stocking.
5.  I added some ribbon, Prima Lace, Maya Road Tea Garden Ribbon, some greenery and a Tim Holtz Ideology Key.
Here's what it looks like hanging on my wall:
Thanks for stopping by for today's installment of the 12 days of Christmas!!!
I hope you have a marvelous day,

Hi there dear friends!! It's the 6th Day of Christmas and I have a couple of Christmas projects featuring Beautiful Dreamer papers and goodies by Glitz Design to share with you today!!

My first project is a fun little altered chipboard house ornament:
I used a Melissa Frances chipboard ornament house as the base.  I traced the house onto the patterned paper and cut it out.  Then I assembled the house as directed.  I covered the house with the patterned paper using Claudine Hellmuth's Gloss Multi-medium.
Then I painted the house base with white paint and then covered the roof with buttons and lace.  I covered the entire house with glitter and then embellished the house with Glitz Design Glitzers, Prima Resin Architecture, Pearls and a little Melissa Frances bottle brush tree.
 Supplies used:
Glitz Design "Beautiful Dreamer" Paper: Polka
Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Glitzers
Papertrey Ink Buttons and twine
Martha Stewart Glitter
White paint, bow and lace from my stash

I made a card using the same goodies:
I covered the base of the card with Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Polka Paper and layered two Peek a Boos on top.  I die cut two trees, inked them, then covered them in glitter.  I cut the bird from the Dance in Sunshine Paper Layers.  Then, I embellished the card with hand-dyed seam binding, jingle bells, and an angel wing,
