Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop

Hi there dear friends!  I hope all is well with you!  My day was not what I expected it to be.  I went to work fine and dandy and ended up going home at 9:30 with the restroom being my closest friend.  Not fun, indeed!  After a much needed three hour nap and reading a little bit of Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay, I was feeling a little better.  I decided to get out the card I had started for the January Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and see what I could do with it!

Here's the challenge:

The-Challenge
This month, in honor of the New Year, we are challenging you to pick your favorite project from 2011 and share it with all of us. To take it a step further, you are challenged to create a second card that is inspired by the favorite project you select. Your new version of an old favorite could carry over the color scheme, the layout or the stamp sets. We look forward to seeing your best creations from 2011, as well as your first projects from 2012!
Here's the card I chose:
and here's my take on the challenge:
I used some scraps of Glitz Design Pretty In Pink, Happy Travels and French Kiss Papers.  I cut down each panel to size, inked the edges, and stamped each one with different Papertrey Ink Stamps.  I stitched each panel and adhered the panel to the card base.
I added some stamped die cuts, Glitz Design Giant Rhinestones, Ribbon, button and twine to embellish the card.
Supplies used:
Papetrey Ink Rosie Posie Stamps and Die Cuts

Papertrey Ink Background Basics Hearts
Papertrey Ink Blooming Button Bits Sentiment
Papertrey Ink Fine Linen Ribbon and Button
Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock
Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz Ink
Glitz Design Pretty in Pink, French Kiss, and Happy Travels Papers and Giant Rhinestones
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink
Memento Ink Tuxedo Black

Well, I'm off to bed a little early tonight!
A little extra sleep will do me some good!
Hope you have a wonderful day,
Kristii

Absolutely stunning! Both cards are just beautiful. And how amazing that you were able to create such a beautiful card all while suffering from "numerous bathroom trips disease" lol! I'm right there with ya today-must be something in the air:)

I can not tell you which one I like the best. At first glance, I would have said don't change a single thing on the first card, but when I see your second version, I thought, don't change a thing on it either. Beautiful, love the Rosie Posie set. I just have to get that one!

Both of these just knock my socks off! Just like most everything you make :-) You are a master of balance when it comes to the details- splitting the sentiment on the newer card really caught my eye and who can resist a little tied on tag-or acorn as the case may be? Love them!

I love how you were able to transform a decidedly autumnal design into a fresh, springy creation. While I love the original (and Autumn is my favorite season), the colors on the revamp are so cheerful and inviting. Great card!
