It's a Mystery

Happy Wednesday dear friends!!  I can't even believe that we are so close to Thanksgiving, although my heart been busy with all things Christmas!!  It's no mystery that Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I jump at every chance I get to create something to celebrate my favorite holiday. Speaking of mysteries, this week Simon Says Stamps is holding a mystery challenge and I thought it would be fun to take part!

When I thought about the whole mystery theme, I considered all the components that make a mystery complete and I compared it to all the components that make a card complete and it reminded me of a collage. The definition of Collage: is a technique where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.  A collage may sometimes includes newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas.  After reading the definition of a collage I was totally inspired- I found my mystery inspiration and had a blast going through my scraps to create this card!

To create the background, I dabbed a craft sheet with some Tim Holtz Evergreen Bough ink and spritzed it with water.  I dabbed an ink block in the water/ink mixture and stamped the block onto the card base.  I let the water/ink mixture run until I was happy with the results and dried the card base with my heat gun.  I used Pink Persimmon Winter Girl Antiquated stamps by Lisa Pace to create the focal point.  I stamped the bells and text in Versamark Ink and embossed with gold embossing powder. Love, love, love those stamps!!  I stamped the greenery on patterned paper with Simply Chartreuse ink and fussy cut them.  I fussy cut the flowers from patterned paper and added some bits and pieces from my scrap box.  I tied the bells together with a twine bow and the collage was complete.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Happy December 1st my friends!!  It's time to start the celebration and begin the 12 days of Christmas celebration!!
I have a fun little project for you today featuring Lisa Pace's Antiquated Line of Stamps, Sweet Little Girls.  These stamps are some of my all-time favorite stamps and I thought they would be oh so cute as little angels!  Stamp, Color, Cut, and add wings and glitter...What do you think?
I thought it would be fun to make these little beauties into a little banner to hang on my little heart peg shelf.  I made three panels and used three of the little girls stamps to make the angels.
I stamped around the edge of the star using Papertrey Ink's Love Lives Here: Holiday.  The little pine branches and hearts are a sweet little touch.
I used the McGill Pine Bough punch to make the greenery and added buttons and twine to add more color.
I used Papertrey Ink's Seeing Stars dies to die cut the stars that are in between the panels.  I just love the look of distressed cardboard stars!

Little Girls and Pink Paislee

Oh sweet friends, I want to say happy Friday, but it's the last Friday before school starts.  I am so not ready this year.  I have been so busy creating and hiking, I haven't had time to do all the other things I wanted to get done before school starts!  Oh well, who wants to clean anyway? Not me obviously!!
I've been creating another class with Pink Paislee's London Market Line using Lisa Pace's Sweet Little Girls Stamps by Pink Persimmon.  I think the Sweet Little Girls stamps are my all time favorite stamps ever!!  They are so sweet and so aptly named!!  If you haven't seen them yet, here they are:
They absolutely tickle my heart they're so cute!!  I decided it would be fun to make a little gift project with these cutie pies!
I searched the internet for a poem and found this one by Karen Barnes.  I just love coloring these sweet little girls!!  Brings out my inner child if you know what I mean!!

The frame is from Target  and I added some little scallops around the edge of the print using PTI's Heart Border Die.

I used the following Copics:
What a fun little gift to give to a new mom or a family with daughters!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
I wish you an absolutely fabulous day,

A Little Shabby Goodness!

Happy Sunday Sweet Friends!!  I hope you're all having the best weekend!!  I'm busy in my basement studio getting kits ready to mail tomorrow!! That's right!  All my kits sold out and I'm already dreaming of my next little kit offering!!  I'm so excited and you can be sure I'm doing a little happy dance downstairs where no one can see me!  Lol!!  I've been so busy, that I haven't had time to post a little card I made using The Shabby Tea Room's week #127 challenge.  Here's the challenge:

Hello shabby friends and welcome to another fun week of inspiration and creativity here in the Tea Room!  This week Rebekah is our creative host and she has chosen the theme of 'For The Love of Books' along with this beautiful photo for inspiration and Rebekah asks that you create a card or project inspired by the photo USING CREAM, AQUA, PINK and NEWSPRINT!
and here's my take on the challenge:
I used Pink Persimmon's Sweet Little Girls stamps along with Pink Paislee's London Market Papers.  Speaking of Pink Persimmon stamps, you are going to see me playing a lot more with their stamps!! I will be working on new cards and projects featuring their stamps in the days to come!! I can't wait!!

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week!! I'm going to enjoy my last few days off that's for sure!!!  Thank you so much for taking time to visit my blog!!! I appreciate you all
so very much!!!

Happy Friday dear friends!!!  I'm so excited to share Lisa Pace's new line of Antiquated stamps!!!  I just love Lisa's stamps they are so amazing and full of detail!!
The Antiquated Collection is a tribute to the era of ascots, parasols, fancy hats, patent leather shoes and all things charming and endearing.  ~Lisa Pace
This stamp is all that and more!!!  The sheer vintage goodness of it totally makes me smile!!  I can't tell you how much fun I had playing with it!!!

...then comes Baby stamps so beautifully and the detail is so fabulous!!

I stamped the image twice onto Vintage Cream Cardstock.

and fussy cut one of the stamped images.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and inked the edges of the image with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye ink.  I curled the edges of the carriage to add depth and used pop dots to glue the image on top of the main stamped image.  I embellished the finished image with pearls to add to the Vintage Style!!!

A Little Antiquated and a Glitzy Sneak

Hi there dear friends!!  I've been ignoring my blog over the past week, but I have a very good excuse!! Shhhhh.....don't tell, but I've been playing with my three new favorite lines of paper!!!  Yes, I've been playing with the new Glitz Design goodies and I have to tell you that all three lines are my favorite Glitz Design lines ever!!!!  Have you seen them yet?
All three are absolutely fabulous, but I do have to say that Pretty in Pink is my very favorite of this release!!!  I can't wait to show you what I've made so far with each line, but I can show you a little peek of a mini album that I made:
The papers are gorgeous and all the embellies are just perfect!!  I can't tell you enough how much I love Glitz Design!!!

I also used some of the leftovers that I had and made a little Valentine's Card using Lisa Pace's Antiquated line of stamps by Pink Persimmon.  I used these stamps:
and made this fun little vintage style card:
I stamped the Glitz Design Pretty in Pink Toile Paper with Papertrey Ink's Background Basic Hearts stamps in brown and inked the edges.  I added a French Kiss Labels panel and layered a heart doily and a Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer sticker over the top over the top.  I added some lace and stitched a die cut heart border over the top.  The pearls added that special touch to the card.
I added some hand died seam binding from My Craft Spot and a PTI Double Edged Border die cut stamped with a Friendship Jar Spring Filler Sentiment.

Happy Monday before Christmas!!

Happy Monday before Christmas my friends!!  I have lots to do before my family begins to arrive!! I'll be getting up early and staying up late to get it all done, but it will be worth it when I will be able to relax while they're here!!

We are taking a couple of weeks off at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps to enjoy the holiday, so I will take the opportunity to share some Christmas projects that I am working on in these days just before Christmas.

Vintage Christmas with Lisa Pace's  Antiquated Collection by Pink Persimmon :
I stamped the absolutely beautiful image onto Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. Then, I covered the card base with a Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer Whatnot.   I added a couple of strips of Melissa Frances Deck the Halls paper and stitched the edges.  I added lace, buttons, and a sweet little leaf along the bottom edge.

Along the top edge of the card I added a beautiful red seam binding bow, a button and a K and Co. Chipboard embellishment.  Sigh....I just love vintage goodies!!!

This weekend I made two batches of one of our favorite Christmas candy recipes and I thought I would share it with you!

Rocky Road

Ingredients:
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
2 cups dry-roasted peanuts
1 (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows

Directions
In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and butter with EAGLE BRAND®; remove from heat.  In large bowl, combine peanuts and marshmallows; stir in chocolate mixture. Spread in wax paper lined 13X9-inch baking pan. Chill 2 hours or until firm.
Remove from pan; peel off paper and cut into squares. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

So easy to make and absolutely delicious!!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 7 Tea Dyed Stocking featuring Lisa Pace's Dr. Warner's Corsets

Happy 7th Day of Christmas my friends!!! I have a fun little tea-dyed stocking project for you today!!
1.  Tea Dye any stocking or sock.  I purchased my stocking already tea-dyed from Real Deals.
2.  Stamp Vintage image and color.  I used Lisa Pace's Dr. Warner's Corsets from her Antiquated Collection by Pink Persimmon.
I just have to say that the Dr. Warner's Corsets is my favorite stamp so far from her collection, but that is until I work with the other sets! They are all absolutely fabulous!

These are the Copic Markers I used for this project:
3.  After coloring, I cut the image to size and then I painted it with Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.  When the paint was dry, I heavily inked the entire image with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  You can see the depth the crackle paint and ink added to the image.
4.  I framed the image with Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Ornate Plates and adhered the image to the stocking.
5.  I added some ribbon, Prima Lace, Maya Road Tea Garden Ribbon, some greenery and a Tim Holtz Ideology Key.
Here's what it looks like hanging on my wall:
Thanks for stopping by for today's installment of the 12 days of Christmas!!!
I hope you have a marvelous day,

The Twelve Days of Christmas 2011

Happy December first everyone!!!  I'm so excited to get started with the 12 Days of Christmas posts!!
Sigh....I just love this time of the year and I hope you will join me for the next twelve days of fun Christmas projects and gift ideas!!   I made a fun little banner for the occasion using Rhonna Farrer's Christmas Junque Digital Images

Day 1- Card and Ornament Set

My first project features Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer papers and a new vintage stamp by Lisa M. Pace.  If you haven't seen Lisa's new stamps made by Pink Persimmon, you will definitely have to check them out!! They are full of vintage goodness and I love each and every one of them!!  I also used a vintage hymnal page featuring "Away in a Manger", one of my favorite Christmas Carols.   I embellished the card with some hand dyed seam binding, lace, a stamped tag and a gorgeous Maya Road Vintage Findings Pearl Center.  I added some punched snowflakes with pearl centers to the hymnal paper to add some texture and color.

I selectively punched out the angel from the Dr. Warner's Corset stamp using a 1 3/4" circle punch:
and I used Copic Markers to lightly color in the image.  Then I inked the edge of the circle with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

For the ornament, I die cut two Papertrey Ink Damask Snowflakes.  The snowflakes were inked and then covered in glitter and layered one on top of the other.  I added the punched circle in the middle of them and added Rusty Jingle Bells, a golden snowflake and tea dyed twill ribbon to embellish.
Supplies used:
Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock and Button Twine
Vintage Hymnal Paper
Martha Stewart Glitter
Metal embellishments from Red Lead
Recollections Pearls
Prima Lace
EK Success Snowflake Punch
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink by Ranger
Rusty Bells from Frost It Pink
Hand Dyed Seam Binding by MemrieMare

Thank you for joining me on the first day of our twelve day adventure!!!
Wishing you a blessed Holiday Season,
